College Hill Presbyterian lies about 5 miles north of Oxford, and was the religious home of William Faulkner. The antebellum brick chapel, displaying it's original stained glass and bead board walls that predate you or I, was my family's church for generations. I attended weddings and funerals there as a child, and proposed to my wife within those walls as a young adult. Visit the grounds, take in the things those 4 walls have witnessed over the last 150 years.

Even though the attached picture is of First Presbyterian Church(where we belong) College Hill Presbyterian is a delightful step back in time and a must see for our out of town company. We took a Dallas friend to see it last fall when she visited us and the setting is truly charming! The cemetery and 100 year old trees on the property are truly magnificent! We got a bonus when we were able to all go inside the College Hill General Store which is across the street from the church and get a tour from the lady who runs the store. Tom H. is right. This is not a picture of the College Hill Presbyterian Church in College Hill, just outside Oxford, MS. It is, indeed, a beautiful, old (antebellum) structure-- well worth the visit.My family and I have visited this lovely old church numerous times. We have always been welcomed and have almost always seen at least 2 or 3 old friends on our visit there. More than anything else, though, the worship service there has been conservative and Biblical-- also well worth the visit. Services are held on Sunday mornings at 11:00 o'clock.

I was a member of College Hill Presbyterian church while attending the University of Mississippi in the 1980's. Quaint little church in the middle of nowhere. All of my relatives are buried in the cemetary that sits next to the church. I would highly recommend going by to take a look. A true step back in time where things in life seemed simpilar.

This is First Presbyterian Church, in Oxford, and this is about it's worst angle. College Hill Presbyterian Church is a much older antebellum structure out in the country, in the community of College Hill. It also has a great historic cemetery. Don't miss the country store across the road.
