Katrina hit Bilouxi hard and this church too. The parishioners did a beautiful job of repairing and the church and the stained glass windows that wind around it are beautiful to see.
This church is a must see inside. A fisherman's church designed small model fishing boats around the alter. The cross and stain glass windows are awesome.
If you get the chance go here. it is a beautiful church. They give tours on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3pm. Built round and all stain glass absolutely beautiful!
A beautiful, round church. We attended Christmas Mass here and it was lovely. Beautiful music with a violinist. And the priest's sermon was a memorable one. Very friendly people here too and they were very welcoming to us.
This church is gorgeous and so unique with it's clam shaped roof. It's a must see for the area. After Katrina it's nice to see that it's still standing.
We always go to this church on Sundays when we are visiting Biloxi. We enjoy the service, and people are always friendly. Easy to find, across the street from The Golden Nugget. The Priest or any of the staff staff will tell you the history of the church and how it was affected by Katrina and their restoration. .
Apart from the religious services, which are not being reviewed here, you will be impressed by the beauty of this temple: it's round with elongated stained-glass windows all around it's circumference. Offers a restful and quiet atmosphere if you need to meditate or pray. The church was heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina but they have done a remarkable job of restoring it. Even if you are not religious, you will want to see the windows and enjoy the atmosphere.
I find it strange how this is a circular church built in the middle of the casinos. Its location probably goes way back before the casinos were there, but it is very strange. Its an ok church for a sunday worship.
Have been to St Michaels several times, it's a beautiful church and a friendly parish. The mass is at 5pm on Saturdays during the summer, it may change during the winter.
This is a beautiful and unique Catholic Church. The building itself draws your attention. Worth visiting even if your not catholic, just for a photo of the building.
Tried to stop in while in town, but the doors were locked.I don't know the area that well, so I am assuming that security is needed.
This church is right across the street from Schooners Rest. It's Huge and I swear is astounding. Big, gothic, Beautiful iside and out. Some beautiful life-sized statues (to the left of enterance) and the Padre' is most pleasant . A must see - even just to drive by but might as well get a Gumbo at Scooners too !!
Fr. Greg was an incredible priest, which gave a great homily. Highly recommended!!! He was true to the Catholic faith, and very much made us feel welcome.
My husband and I went to Mass on Easter and not only is the church beautiful but the whole experience was special. When we fist arrived we talked with a member of the choir who gave us some history on the area and the church and later gave us some mementos to remember them by. We enjoyed the Priest very much, the choir and the congregation. We were quite surprised at the beautiful leaded stained glass windows which we could not see from the outside.
This church was devastated in Katrina. The church which is round and calls itself the fisherman's church is beautiful with many stained glass windows. Lovely
