Hi Melissa,We're so glad you were able to visit with the Mississippi Children's Museum during your "down time" in Jackson. The Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration is our annual MCM event to promote literacy and imagination throughout our community. You all picked a great and busy day to come visit. We will pass on your gratitude to Cynthia and hopefully the painting arrives soon!As a parent, we hope you are able to share another experience with your family. As a kindergarten teacher, we encourage you to check out our professional development opportunities where we offer CEU's, field trip information and teaching material. Thank you!Team MCM
This is Jackson's top younger children's attraction for Jackson. There are so many things to do that each time a child goes they discover new things to do and learn. We enjoy it every time we go. Our grandson and granddaughter love this place. Even our preschool has field trips here. We were members one year and had a 3 year old birthday party there. It was a blast. Their pizza is very good to our pleasant surprise. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.
A great place to spend the day with family and friends. The kids can let their imaginations and creative skills go all day long.
Today we visited the Mississippi Children's Museum. Our party included me (the mom), my 4yo twin boys, and my mother-in-law. What a great time we had! The boys loved this place! From the many climbing activities to the musical fun to the library to the construction/farm zone, we were fully entertained for 3 hours. The weather was less than ideal which meant it was a great museum day! Even the adults agree it was an enjoyable place to visit. We've been to the #1 children's museum in the US, Indianapolis Children's Museum. While that museum is excellent, I felt the MS children's museum, while a bit smaller, was perfect for my children at age 4 (although the Indianapolis Children's Museum has a carousel and we love carousels and MS CM does not).We were traveling from Texas back to our home in Florida. We made a special stop for this museum. We're so glad we did! Not sure if we'll be in Jackson again while this my sons are children, but we would return if ever in the area.
Hello Steven,Thank you so much for visiting the Mississippi Children's Museum during your visit in Jackson. We appreciate your feedback and we're so glad that your family had an inspirational learning experience exploring our museum. We hope you all visit again soon.Thank you!
Great place to take children! A lot of fun and entertainment for a couple of hours for children. A great space for birthday parties & offers a PNO every now and then. A few of the exhibits are even informative for adults.
The museum is laid out very well, clean, and fun for the kids! It is a little on the expensive side though, in my opinion, especially at $10 each for parents. Kids enjoyed it, but won't want to go back for another year or two.
Great interactive museum focusing on the things that Mississippi Special ranging from history to geology to music and arts
This place is soooo much fun for kids and adults alike. Makes you engage your imagination while learning all about the wonderful, unique things Mississippi has to offer. They have just opened the new gardens and there is even a slash pad out front. We are members and go as much as we can - my children even attend their summer day camps over summer break! Tip: There is a huge playground in the adjacent park and it's a favorite activity to pack a lunch and picnic.
The MS Children's Museum gives the citizens of Mississippi a great place to take their children. It is a favorite place to visit.
They had everything here! From human-sized doll to all kind of toys for your kid. My son absolutely loved the farmers' market here. Moreover, it's a fantastic place for hosting birthday parties.
My daughter, age 7, had just as much fun the second time as she did the first time! She loves crawling through the tunnels & playing in the life size doll house!!!
My son and I always enjoy visiting the Children's Museum. It is a great place for kids to explore, play and learn. There is so much to do, really more than you can do in one visit. My son never wants to move to another section, but when he does he doesn't want to leave that spot. This is defiantly a must do for anyone with kids! Love, love, love the Children's Museum!
We're members and have also done the summer camp. An invaluable resource for the state with much to offer!
I have 2 children. They've been to the MS Children's Museum in Jackson at least 2 dozen times, and they still ask to go back. There is so much to do, and see for kids that you can easily spend 3 hours here without skipping a beat. They just added a new outdoor area that we quite enjoyed the last time we were there. It was well shaded in the morning. There is a structure to climb on, some kind of water feature you can crawl through without getting wet, and outdoor games to play. Indoors is clean and well maintained. The dancing area, the paint splatter area, the music playing, the farmer's market and art areas are all outstanding. We've had 2 birthday parties at the Children's Museum. They both turned out well and were easy for parents and fun for kids. This is such a great and appreciated addition to our city. It's definitely worth a visit! Only idea for improvement: Please sell some good coffee.
