My absolute favorite thing about O'Connor's is that it is huge. I have never once while there felt too crowded. I went on the brewery tour the last time I was there and it was pretty fun to learn about the inner workings. TRY THE BELLS BEACH if it is still in season! ugh my favorite and I wish it was sold year round. Green Can is the standard and easiest beer to get your Bud Light drinking friends into something that's a little (or a lot) better for their palates. Usually you will find food trucks outside of O'Connor which is clutch bc they only really serve snacks - not food. However, it is one of my favorite after work hangouts :-)
We sampled the new Ibrik coffee stout utilizing Three Ships Coffee. Excellent flavor very rich. Two locally owned companies come together for one great flavor. They have bottled this in 22 ounce. Wonderful treat.
We held a "Hail and Farewell" at this location, and surprisingly it was a good relaxed place to hold a function like that for co-workers. The brewery let's you pick from a list of local restaurants to buy food/cater to your desires.Do NOT expect a food menu at O'Connor Brewery.Tried most of the beers and they were mostly good.A very RELAXED environment...I would go here again for a function.
Great selection of beers on tap, from light Golden to a dark Porter. Large, comfortable Taproom with monastery tables and some entertainment options. Full view of the brewing operation. The have a nice selection of appetizers, and support from an assortment of food trucks that stop by during peak periods and weekends.
Excellent beer, and while I loved the old tasting room the new one is fantastic. Best place to relax for an after work brew in Norfolk!
Had no idea what we were getting into on a Saturday night. We wanted to stop by after having an early dinner in Ghent and taste a couple of different beers. We walked into a raging party with live music ( yes it was pretty loud) and folks mingling about and playing corn hole. We had a lot of fun. And the beer was great.
This place is a fun place to visit. The long communal tables make it easy to make new friends. The beers are really good--the stout is my favorite-- and with a food truck parked right outside there is good eats to accompany your beer. Like previous posters commented, when the live music is playing it does get loud.
Great space and experience once you find it and ignore the concertina wire around the neighborhood. Beer selection was awesome. Loved the way they have taken the warehouse and made it into a bar. Food truck was there as well serving food. Did the sampler of the beer and loved most of them. Went late in the afternoon so it was a little warm inside but nothing that would prevent us from returning. Great place to visit.
We recently visited O'Connors at their new location. Loved the location, loved the beer, had a wonderful pleasant time hanging out on a summer evening....until the music started. The band was good, but so loud that conversation was impossible. It's really a shame. Unless you like REALLY LOUD music, go early to avoid the music or on days with no band. It's impossible to talk to anyone you come with once it starts.
What a remarkable brewery experience! Nice asting room, excellent beer snacks, life-size Jenga, shuffleboard, local bands and more. Although we didn't enjoy the beers as much as other craft breweries we've visited, the experience is a lot of fun and worth checking out. We appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit and O'Connor's remake of an old facility. Well done! We'll come back.
Great beer, laid back atmosphere. A must stop for beer snobs! The place seems like a rough side of town but once you get in there everybody is friendly.
