Great pies and produce. They have lots of other offerings, as well, and the people that work there are friendly and helpful.
This farm market is out in the country, but also easy to find and there's plenty of parking. These folks raise their own Angus beef, which the owner I spoke to explained is grass-fed while the cows are on their farm. When the cows go to the local slaughterhouse, they might be fed some grain while awaiting slaughter. They offer a good variety of frozen Angus beef cuts, as well as Crabill's (local) bacon in the refrigerator case and Crabill's sausage in the freezer. The chicken they carry comes from a different local farmer and is *very* expensive, IMO. There's also a selection of cheeses that seem to come from Amish country in PA, though nothing fancy. They offer farm-fresh local eggs at a decent price and, of course, lots of fresh veggies and flowers in season. They have a greenhouse on-site. There's also maple syrup from WV, Virginia country ham, locally made apple butter which tastes way better than any you'd buy at the supermarket, a selection of Route 11 potato chips, and some local arts and crafts, too. Their homemade pies are *to die for*--don't go home without one. Every time I visit here it's a happy experience. They do have plastic grocery bags, but I also suggest bringing your own bags. They do accept debit/credit cards.
Interesting place to visit great produce, baked goods and jar specialties. Numerous other things. Worth a visit.
Beautiful pumpkins and squash, very friendly and helpful staff, and a nice selection of jams/jellies, canning and cooking mixes, and pickled vegetables. They also had delicious pies and tasty looking cakes. I really enjoyed my visit and can't wait to go back for another pie!
