We loved our ride with Willie. Unfortunately, we were supposed to be in a group, and 5 people were a no show-no call. Willie was clearly frustrated, but he didn't let it affect our ride or his attitude. He clearly cares for his horses and loves his job, and he loves to talk about it!The hour trail ride was scenic and also provided just enough variety in landscape that the ride seemed a little more exciting than a dirt patch. We would recommend this trail ride to any family!

I was fortunate to have and hour & half ride with Willie on a beautiful horse. The horses are all so well taken care of and happy. Willie is a professional in every way and a great story teller. He started us off with a short perfect blessing then off we went along the hillsides outside of Boerne, Tx. I look forward to another ride on "chrome" my beautiful thoroughbred that I was so lucky to meet! Thanks Willie, a good memory to take home.

Right off the bat, Willie made sure the riders had the right horse, the right equipment and a good time!! We started the ride with a short prayer which set the stage not only for the beautiful scenery but a perfect trail ride on horses that are well taken care of and weather that was better than anyone could ask for. Willie's stories and personality made the day perfect. If you're anywhere near Boerne, don't miss the chance to go for a trail ride with Willie.

My daughter and I travel each Thanksgiving to spend a few days one on one! We took a side trip to Boerne, TX from our hotel in San Antonio. First let me say Boerne is the cutest town ever!!! We shopped at most of the cute little shops, we ate downtown at the cutest little restaurant, and we went on a trail ride with Willie of Stricker Trail Rides. Willie is a wonderful Christian man who greeted us with a huge smile and a short prayer before we took off on our ride. I thought that was wonderful! I rode a horse named Dig the Ladies, my daughter rode Prize. We had a beautiful afternoon to ride. The leaves were changing colors and the temperature was just warm enough to be without a jacket. We rode through the beautiful hill country for an hour and a half. My daughter and I laughed and smiled the whole trip!!! Just a wonderful experience overall!

Willie, a very professional Christian horseman, started our day in the saddle with a smile and a handshake! He took the time to match each individual up with the perfect equine companion. As a horsewoman, this was THE BEST trail ride I have ever taken! The horses don't just play follow the leader. The scenery is gorgeous. The horses are well trained and Willie could not have done a better job as Trail Boss! Great stories, great fellowship and great scenery. I truly felt at home as if I were on my own horse!We only rode an hour and a half. I wished that we could have ridden all day. If you love horses and trail rides, go for the longest possible ride......it's well worth the money.RHS Ranch, Texas

Today we went on an amazing trail ride with Willie as our guide. Considering that I live in the hill country and I have ridden horses before, even at a dude ranch, I knew I would be hard to please. We were a bit leery upon arriving at the location but once we were greeted by Willie and the beautiful horses with the gorgeous scenery we knew we had made the right choice. Willie was very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and we even loved that he was a man of faith and prayed with us before we began our ride. The horses were so well-trained and obedient that you didn't even need to hold onto the reigns and you still felt safe. We loved that it was just our group of four and Willie, providing an intimate trail ride through the hill country. We did the 9:30 am tour (for an hour) and although it was humid and in the 90s we enjoyed a cool breeze and never felt hot. We were sad that the hour was over and spent our drive home already talking and planning about when we can go again!

We had a great experience horseback riding with Willie. At first I was a bit nervous (it was just me and my child) as it's off the beaten path and not a ranch. You basically turn onto a dirt path through a gate and then follow the path until you get to his truck. Then you walk down to the pen (in the shade) where the horses are. Once I met Willie I wasn't nervous any longer. He's a real cowboy and gentleman. We rode for 1 1/2 hours and it wasn't a problem at all for novices. The riding is a bit rough (it's Texas Hill Country after all) on rocky trails and through trees and shrubs. The horses were beautiful and well treated...retired racers! He had helmets available for us; helmets were required for children.Rates are good; cash/check only. Would definitely chose Stricker Trail Rides again!

The kids wanted to ride horses while on our family vacation to the hill country. This was a great experience. Horses were very calm and well trained. Our guide was really nice & showed us beautiful views of the area. Very fun!

On our short vacation to San Antonio, we had a last minute reservation with Willie and it became one of our favorite experiences of the trip!! The trails and scenery were gorgeous and the horses were outstanding!! Wille made the whole ride even better and we felt so comfortable the entire time, due to the excellently trained horses and the best trail guide! Wille was very knowledgable about the ride and was very conversational! We absolutely loved our time with these horses and would most definitely recommend this to anyone!! Children, novices, experienced riders or anyone will love this experience and will feel completely comfortable and confident on the horses!! Loved it!

Willie made the entire experience! His deep knowledge of handling and care for horses is clearly his purpose in life! The Hill Country terrain was pretty, full of cactus, and Willie explains it all. If we are back in the area, we will absolutely do it again. 7 and 9 year old girls loved him. He relates well having grandchildren of his own. 35 mins from JW Marriott and worth every minute of it! You have to give him a call - he is incredibly accommodating and generous with his time, pride, and stories.

During our spring break trip to San Antonio, we packed up and headed to Boerne for an activity I'd arranged in advance - a one-hour trail ride! My six-year-old son had ridden a tethered horse around in a circle before, but he'd never been on a real trail ride. Initially, we'd planned to spend a half day at a dude ranch in Bandera. But because it was spring break, they were only offering full day bookings. I worried that a full day (plus an hour's drive out, and another hour's drive back) might be a bit much for little man, so I investigated other opportunities. I'm so glad I did. Mr. Willie Stricker himself led our ride, and the horses were gorgeous. My son got the smallest horse, Anna (and a bike helmet, because you can never be too safe). My husband and I both got big, beautiful horses. Mine was named Spirit, and My husband's was named Prize. There were other folks on the ride, too, and our entire party was around 10 people. Mr. Willie saddled up, and we enjoyed a little over an hour on horseback, following a trail through the Texas hills. Yellow wildflowers dotted the hillsides, and the breeze blew my hair back off my face. We even got to trot in a few level spots! It had been a while since I'd ridden a horse, and I forgot how wonderful it was! As soon as the ride was over, my son wanted to go again!This was such a wonderful experience for all of us. Highly, highly recommended!

My husband and I, both very novice riders, had a great time on our trail ride with Willie Stricker. His horses are so well-trained and well-managed that we felt comfortable and confident at all times, and friends back home said our photos reflected that, made us look like veterans in the saddle, which we certainly are not! As for Willie himself, he was good-natured and patient throughout and fun to talk with; we really enjoyed his company. This trail ride was a very nice capstone to our Texas experience and we highly recommend it.

Booked a 1 hour trail ride with my two daughters ages 9 & 11. The trail guides were extremely courteous and organized. Offered us jackets because it was chillier than we had expected. The horses were great, we saw deer, bunnies and an armadillo as well as the beautiful texas hill country. Highly recommend.

We had the pleasure of taking a trail ride at Stricker Trail Rides. This was a Spring Break activity and we had a great time. This was the first ride for my daughters (9 years old and 11 years old) and me and we had no problems. I thought the trail would be something very flat and simple, but actually the trail was through some beautiful, but pretty rugged terrain. The horses are gorgeous and Willie shared with us that they are former race horses. The horses were very well trained and Willie and his assistant are clearly experienced with riding and training horses, so we felt like we were in good hands. Also, on our ride there was a six year old boy and he did great on his horse by himself. If you are thinking about taking a ride, do not delay. You will have a great time and you will enjoy the beautiful scenery. We took the 1 hour ride and we will be going back again. We live in far Northwest San Antonio and it took us 40 minutes to get to the Willie's place in Boerne.
