For a smaller water park, Splash Kingdom offers a full service, clean family oriented entertainment on a hot summers day! Great place for the kids, no need to worry about underdressed people in the park as they enforce a decency dress code. Nice environment and plenty of fun for the whole family!
This was our 1st experience there and we were not impressed. If you look on their facebook page on rainy days you can get half price tickets- which is why we went. They have a total of maybe 5 rides...with 3 different slides being in one so you have to wait in line on the same stairs, adding to the wait time. Then add in the fact that there is only one person working each ride, it further adds tot he wait time. It is a very tiny water park that is packed with people. You can see everything from anywhere you stand in the park. The food is average priced for a water park. We fed 5 people- 2 plain nachos, 1 kids chicken finger basket, 2 bottles of water and a double cheeseburger meal for $29. We will stick to hurricane harbor.
We took our grandkids on the last weekend of summer, and it was very crowded. We had to park a long way from the entrance, but that didn't interfere with our fun! We had heard that they check all bags going into the park, and that is true. I thought that was good too. I assume they were making sure that we didn't sneak in food, but probably also checking for glass too. We ate lunch before we got there, but had packed an ice chest with snacks later on. Well, since our car was parked a good ways off, we didn't go to the car until we left. We found the rides nice and well supervised for the most part. Our grands are young, so we didn't try the real big rides. The lazy river was a hit for us. Everyone had a good time and it was money well spent for us!
We went the weekend before school started in hopes of one last hurrah. It was a major disappointment. They were severely short staffed. We arrived at 12:30 PM and left at 5:30 PM. Only got to go down five slides and it wasn't due to a high volume of people. The lifeguards were each trying to do the job of about three people. The snack stand lines were the same way. At least a half hour wait just to order. There were hardly any tubes. It's like all the tubes popped over the summer and there's a huge tube graveyard behind the wave pool. This could have been a fabulous day if things had been better managed.
My husband and I have brought our daughter to Splash Kingdom in 2012 and 2014. We were so excited this summer, because she was finally tall enough to enjoy the park beyond the children's area. My disappointment started with the lack of tubes for the lazy river. We rode this multiple times during our trip and never had one. The next issue was the inappropriate music. My daughter is 5. she should not be forced to listen to, for lack of a better word, "booty" music. The music at the wave pool was not family friendly or Christian. I was not impressed on this visit and will continue on the interstate to Dallas for our next day trip. The price was not worth it for the visit.
DO NOT...I repeat DO NOT go here! I rarely complain about services and I am generally overly understanding. I have had minimal contact from this organization after an incident there caused Annalee to have to have her toenail surgically removed. I would have had no problem with this, the fact that she had to leave Texas early, being involved in a 3 car accident on the way to the ER or having to be partially sedated due to her fear of doctors. What I have a problem with is they have called me ONE TIME, will give me no insurance information and I have heard nothing from their insurance company. Her bill is $2514.00 and I'm sure this is nothing to them but it is everything to me. They are behaving completely unprofessional considering we put them in charge of our children's safety. The "general manager" Jeff Russell was completely unprofessional. I inquired as to how Splash Kingdom Waterpark planned to procede with corrective action regarding my daughter's injury in the wave pool. His response was to have a nice day and contact the insurance company if I have any further questions. My question was what should have been a simple one. .. how will you fix the peeling texture on the wave pool so that another 11 year old girl does not end up having her toenail surgically removed. I'm attaching the picture so everyone can see how unsafe this place is. Accidents happen and that is one thing, but general managers like Jeff Russell should be more concerned for their patrons.
BEWARE Not a baby friendly place at all!!! I have a newborn I brought 4 bottles with me and extra bottles of water to refill if needed they wouldn't let me bring them in even tho my kids had the cups here for refills I even offered to pay the refill cost for each bottle I wanted to bring in that I no doesn't upset her stomach. Any mom knows you bring extra everything. Jeff even suggested I leave them in my car for my baby to drink scalding hot water when she needed a bottle then said he could leave them up front to get hot my diaper bag is insulated they would of been fine rules may be rules but ignorance is ignorance and I didn't have any extra bottles to pour them into so we will be leaving shortly which made a horrible day for my kids already we will not be back this "Christian" company is a joke and the people that work here are a bigger joke the lady up front even have me a fake name something silly just insane when you come spend money at a business they treat u like this this review can also be found on my other fb and yelp
I have been to Schlitterbaun water park before. This we went just to get time pass and make chill ourselves for summer. It is not much adrenaline. Even kids will get bored. Only limited rides. yellow ride which normally no kids are going because of risky steep ride but this is good dont miss it. Then Royal Splash is good. Other than that there is no much rides. Wave pool is mild only. Lazy River is Ok. there is no strong current river here. We ate pizza which is good. Not much crowd so there is limited waiting time for these rides.
Splash Kingdom is a Christian based water park in Canton Texas which is on I-20 between Dallas and Shreveport in Canton, Tx. We went late afternoon so ate before we went and only bought icees and ice cream. The prices are about what you expect at amusement type parks. You can also bring your own food and eat outside on picnic tables. The park has several tubes you ride down...the only negative is you have to wait for someone to bring you a tube to make the climb up the stair tower. There's also two body slides and a toilet bowl drop for strong swimmers. The volcano drop is really fun where you drop into a deep pool of water. There's also a great children's area with lots of activities and a new mat where you lie down face forward and go down the slide. A wave pool is nice but the really deep part is roped off. The lazy river is nice too. We only spent 2-3 hours here and did everything.
Pros: Small enough to allow preteen age to kids to "roam" from slide to slide and you can just about see them from anywhere. Nice variety of activities for all ages. Not overcrowded like the bigger water parks. Mostly families with small children. Plenty of lawn chairs.Cons: Doesn't open until 11am (10 would be great.). Cannot bring ANY outside food and drinks in. Would be great to bring bottled water vs paying $2 per regular sized bottle there. This rule could easily allow for heatstroke or other unsafe conditions to occur. It's Texas. It's hot. Let us bring in water. Concrete gets VERY hot to walk on inside the park. My 4 year-old wanted to be carried because of it. A cool deck or constant mist of the walkways would be good. Although there are food concessions the choices are limited and mostly unhealthy and there was a major issue with bees when we were there. Several by the picnic area and we also had issues with them near our lawn chairs. The kids area is great, however, the stairs for the red slide are placed opposite of where the kids come down the slide. Therefore if you see your child go up the stairs, come to the other side to wait for them to go down the slide and they change their mind without you knowing and walk back down the stairs they could EASILY get separated from you. As a mom this was my biggest complaint and red flag because it made me feel like there was no good place to stand to see my child 100%. I do recommend this place and will visit again but I would also love to see something good be brought up to speed for something fantastic!!
Love the new water slide ride where 4 can race to the bottom at one time. There is something for every age to do and the concessions are not overpriced. Employees are friendly and helpful. You cannot take your own food and drinks inside but there is a picnic area just outside the park so you can get your hand stamped and return to the park.
This is always a fun time. It is a Christian water park and plays Christian music. Lots of lifeguards on duty. Grandchildren are 3 and 8.. both had lots to do. All of us had a wonderful time!
The town we live in does not have a public pool so when our grandchildren reached the age of needing summer activity, SPLASH KINGDOM was the answer. We were able to drop them off there knowing they would be well supervised and treated well. A real answer to the need for summer fun for the family.
A young child relieved himself in the wave pool. The life guards called a "code brown" someone came with a net and removed it. The pool was not shut down it was business as usual. Disgusting.
The price of admission is extremely high for what you get. You can get a season's pass to Hurricane Harbor, which is much bigger and has much, much more to offer, for $30 less than it costs for one to Splash Kingdom. Hurricane Harbor used to have an area for parents who smoke, too, (don't know if they still do), while Splash Kingdom doesn't even allow it in the parking lot. Daily admission price is slightly lower than Hurricane Harbor, but again it's a lot for what you get. My grandsons were pretty quickly bored riding the same 5 rides all day long. They were ready to leave after two hours, but since we'd paid $75 for the three of us to get in, I made them stay a little longer.
