I read a lot of reviews before going, which made me nervous because I liked the idea that it wasn't that far from San Antonio and I got a great deal on a hotel. Well, We were pleasantly surprised.. The staff wasn't at all rude, like a lot of the reviews stated. We didn't loose any money, as a matter of fact we won money. I kinda wished I knew about the newer side that didn't allow smoking, because we ended up playing the slots on the smoking side and both woke up the next morning very stuffy and coughing. But all in all, it was fun and we met a lot of people from san Antonio. Would definitely go back!
My mother-in-law was turning 75 and she really wanted to go to Vegas for her birthday - but with a recent surgery - that was not a possible trip at this time. So - we decided to take the short two hour drive to Eagle Pass to try out the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino. My husband had been years ago and described it as a big barn with slot machines. But we had heard from friends that the with the building of a new hotel and an expansion to the casino - that the place was actually very nice. And our friends were RIGHT!! It was much nicer than we expected! Who knew we had such a nice slot casino such a short drive away from home??? They offer bingo and slot machines. A bunch of slot machines actually. The casino is a very large complex. Many new machines and some older favorites. They do not serve you free alcoholic drinks in the casino - but - you can order a drink on the floor to enjoy as you gamble. They do have free, help yourself beverage and snack stations set up with sodas, coffee & popcorn. The restaurants in the complex were very nice. They have a nice bar as you enter the casino. All of the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. And - while we could not get Nana to Vegas for her big, 75th birthday - she agreed that Kickapoo was a great gambling adventure for this birthday. Actually - I can bet we end up at Kickapoo every time Nana visits now . . . lol. Who knew a little Vegas experience was just a few hours from home?? We will be back for sure!! PS - we hear they plan to expand to add table games soon.
Rude staff. Tight machines. At least when I spend thousands of dollars I would like a little play time.
Wow, almost every single employee at this facility were extremely rude! From the bartenders to the food service. Some ignored us, just a wave of the hand, not friendly at all. The worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. We gambled a few hundred dollars and we didn't even have enough points for a t-shirt. Also, drinks are NOT FREE!!! I've gone to many casinos and that's the first time I've ever been charged for drinks while I gamble, full price too ($3.50 for abeer). Take the extra drive to Louisiana, trust me it's worth it.
I have been to this casino many times since it is the closest to San Antonio. This last time was pretty bad. The casino was actually very crowded but it seems they cannot handle the crowd. We were greeted by a grouchy looking man. He did not smile or say two words to us as we entered. The restroom stall did not have toilet paper and the ice machine was empty in the back area. The line to get food in the back area was way too long and moved very slow. I figure if I am going to spend my money, it will be at one of the better casinos in Louisiana or Oklahoma. It's worth the extra driving hours and they know how to treat their customers. Kickapoo better hope they never legalize gambling in Texas because they will lose a ton of business.....they lost mine.......step it up guy's and improve those customer service skills!
been to this casino many times.good variety of slots.very friendly place. food choices average to poor.the payback on play is the worst I,ve seen.they lose repeat customers because of this.employee Gertie is outstanding.
Very average. Certainly nothing to get excited about, except it is in Texas and closer to San Antonio than other Casinos in Oklahoma and Louisiana.Ate in the sports bar. The food was surprisingly good, but you have to order at the counter, and the seating is very limited...Payouts were nothing to get excited about...Certainly not the "loosest slots" as advertised...Doubt we will return...Lot more fun to drive the extra hours and visit one with better slots, gambling tables and food....
I went to the hotel and handcap room was very and when we check in the people where freindly and place was wonderful and i like the room was very big and it was clean and and hotel was clean in side and out and they have wonderful place to eat and it so wounderful their and I like it they have bellhop help with your bags to you room James
Continue to expand and offer nice choices -- places to eat, drink and gamble to their guests. Very comfortable during middle of week and not crowded or smokey. Machines still take your money.
So my husband and I wanted to gamble so we decided Lucky Eagle because it is a couple of hours away from us. So we were greeted at the door by a male. He just gave us an overview of the casino. He was the one nicest there, which I believe his name was Mario. He even approached later to see how we were doing. Everyone was not too informative due to it was our first time there we did not know how to play. When we went to get the pass card the lady did not seem nice and did not seem to want to explain the concept of accumulating points. Overall we did not win and we tried to enjoy ourselves a much as possible. We are thinking of going back again but still not 100% sure. Some people seem nice but we did not talk to those people.
Been her several times . Food is horrible and over priced . There comp program is a joke . Drinks are watered down and way expensive . Most of the staff does not speak proficient English . Not enough waitresses on the floor .
We were pleasantly surprised by the size and scope of the Eagle Pass casino. It was clean, plenty of restaurants. We did try the buffet on Saturday - shrimp, king crab and rock lobster. That was disappointing considering the price we paid $26 ea. It was all really cold like they had just gotten it out of the freezer and thawed it out. Will try the steak house next time.
Went done to Eagle Pass with family and friends for the weekend. Have been here before and had a good time. Never win big but loved the atmosphere. On this trip while ordering drinks at one of the bars. I was talking with my brother in law when someone guy came from behind and pushed me. I turned to look and the idiot decides to tell me I'm in his way. Mind you I was already at this bar talking with family before this liquor courage hero shows up. One of the security guys on sites call his team over. Next thing you know I'm being told I'm getting kicked out of the casino for not doing anything but spending money. It was only 10:30pm and I was only staying for the night. No manager would take the time to talk with people who saw what had happened or even look at the video surveillance. Needless to say you enter this hotel and casino at your own risk. If anything happens to you out there. The local authorities aren't allowed to try and address any situation do to it being a reservation.
There are plenty of slots to play although a lot of them are variations of the same theme. They are not stingy with the winnings as there are plenty of broadcasts about people winning on a daily basis and we have had the pleasure of having a few decent winnings. But, as with all casino's, don't come here thinking that you are going to win. Just have a good time. The drinks are not free and the bar has to shut down at the usual local bar time but there are waiters/waitresses that will bring you drinks with just a click of a prompt on the machine you are playing on. We enjoy ourselves and they give away freebies. They have upgraded their food as it used to be very blah.
we have been twice, we enjoyed ourselves both times, I think with all gambling you win or you don't :) once we did, once we did not. our only issue was with the buffet, it was higher priced, and to be honest, you didn't get what you paid for, there was very little choices, for the price. Staff was friendly, but the dining choices either need to be better, or the prices lower
