What a great experience! We watched how a baseball glove is made, starting with the leather hides and going all the way through packing and shipping. The process is pretty complicated, with many steps and machines--and the skill of a lot of people. The factory is still owned by the founding family. It was a pleasure to see an American product still made in the United States. The factory staff were friendly and helpful, and they answered all our questions. There's a gift shop with T-shirts, keychains, hats---and, of course, baseball gloves. Display cases feature the history of the company and the professional ball players who have used Nokona gloves. Baseball fans and anyone who likes factory tours will love this place.
The tour took about 45 minutes and was given by the production manager. He led us through all the steps of making a hand-made baseball glove, from choosing the leather to sewing and lacing, and the final "breaking-in". A very enjoyable and instructional tour for all ages and all baseball fans.
This is the last American made/manufactured ball glove in the WORLD! These guys made Nolan Ryan's very first ball glove.
A must stop. The field of dreams comes alive as you see the manafacturing of base ball gloves. Suddenly you can see them on the hands of your favorite players. What an opportunity to order one for son or grandson.
