The dragon's fire has been extinguished, but there's lots of steam. There is surging water that exists the cave like a lashing dragon's tongue. Due to the amount of steam, it's very hard to get a picture of this spectacular site.
you can understand where it got its name. Really amazing to see. Absolutely beautiful. The whole area is fascinating.
Dragon's Mouth springs was incredible, if you have never seen this type of thing before. You are in for a nice surprise. The sound does sound like what a dragon roar. There is a very strong sulfur smell but you get used to that pretty quickly.
Steam vent behind rock cave allows for a roaring "dragon". Took video here to show our grandchildren of this steam breathing roaring dragon.
It stands out in that it is more of a horizontal, hissing feature. Has the visual and the sound to go with it's name. Awesome!
Its name resembles its character :-)The natural sound was like it may erupt any time and the steam and smell were adding effects. Its smells horrible.
If you are coming from the east entrance this is the first place worth stopping. It's really neat and has multiple things to look at
It really does look like a fire breathing dragon with steam and hot water pouring out of it's mouth. That was great.
This was a cool spring to go see. You smell it before you see it. It sounds just like a dragon; snorting, lapping water. Its relatively worth seeing and different than the other springs in the park.
Yes, people it does smell bad, but it is incredible to wonder what is going on inside of that hole to make the sloshing sounds. I really loved this area of Yellowstone!
I never got a picture as clear as the one above. All my pictures show a bit of rock somewhere behind all the steam with a spot of water lapping in and out. My son was enamored with the spewing, snorting, stewing, brewing monster in the cave. If it ever comes out, though, it will have to contend with herds of bison and camera loaded tourists. The good part of this attraction is that there is much much more to see and a walkway to it meaning that more than two thirds of visitors will miss it!
Great smelly experience. Definitely smells like rotten eggs. The Dragon's mouth section was less smelly. Make sure to wear good shoes. It can get slippery.
This was beautiful, not only seeing the steam coming from the cave, but hearing the dragon roar as it came out of the cave. It was worth the quick stop (30 min).
