You can't go wrong with a trip to Victory Ranch. The scenery is spectacular, the folks and the livestock are friendly. The store carries a wonderful selection of handmade items.

This was our second visit to Victory Ranch. Since I'm an avid knitter, I love visiting the store and seeing the animals. The alpacas are just too cute, and the dogs and llamas are part of the ranch. It's a scenic ride from Las Vegas, Santa Fe, or Taos, not that long of a drive. We've always been greeted at the farm store by one of the employees, which is full of yarn, garments, rugs, and all things alpaca. Truly heaven for a knitter or weaver. They offer a short tour/feeding with the alpacas, which is well worth it. It's informative to learn more about the animals. I'm sure we'll go back again.

I took this trip reluctantly since I was not comfortable venturing too far from Santa Fe (this is myfirst time visiting this state) The drive was very scenic with mountains. This ranch is located out in the middle of nowhere and my cell had a hard time with gps. I suggest printing directions. Whilepulling up to the ranch I then felt it was all going to be worth it. The little tour was nice and sweet andthe people who run it are very kind. Not to mention the friendly greeting from the dogs that live and roam the ranch. The alpacas are just so cute and easy to be around. They are from my hand with complete trust. I left with amazing items from the gift shop as well. Everything was high quality and made with love. Def recommend!

Wow...off the beaten path, but worth every minute. I found this ranch via RoadTrippers (app) by accident. My daughter (10 years) and I visited while we were spending time on spring break in Santa Fe. The drive from Santa Fe was easy and took about 90 minutes and was very scenic. Brian (our tour guide and owner) and his wife Darcy made us feel like we were at home the minute we arrived. I look forward to returning at least once a year. The feeding of the baby Alpacas was a priceless experience ($5). They have resident dogs, cats and pigs who were more than appreciative of my daughters attention. We spent a good 2 hours at the ranch and I have to say it was an experience of a lifetime.

Loved our visit to Victory Ranch! The alpacas are so sweet and gentle. Breathtaking setting and scenery on drive there. Owners Brian and Darcy are brimming with hospitality and knowledge. Brian gave an informative and fun tour. Loved feeding and petting the alpacas and dogs. The gift shop also has a fun mix of alpaca yarns (identified with the picture and name of the animal that produced the fleece) and local handmade knit products as well as beautiful alpaca products designed and commissioned by the owner. A must visit from Taos, Las Vegas, and even Santa Fe.

You must experience this amazing place for all ages. The gift shop is the perfect holiday shopping and everyday that you need something special. The tour feeding the Alpacas is for every age. My 6 year old visitors to Mora were just as delighted as my 85 year old in laws. There is something for everyone on your list. Now they all look forward to packages that show we have been shopping in their well staffed and stocked gift shop.

We were part of a tour group that made this one of our stops. We were given the opportunity to feed some of the young alpacas. They were so eager and sweet. The young man who introduced us to the alpacas and offered information was very witty and informative. What a joy to meet the gentle creatures and their caretakers.

We've been here many times, delighted to see the hundreds of alpacas, babies (crias), dogs, llamas, and other critters. This is the largest supplier of Alpaca fiber in US. The owners, staff, and volunteers are more than pleased to welcome visitors of all ages. Kids love it. Tours and feeding times are 11AM and 1 PM, with other times scheduled in warm seasons. The ranch is located in beautiful Mora Valley with the spectacular backdrop of the 10,000' to 13,000' Sangre de Cristo Mountains. In May-June there is alpaca shearing, quite an entreprise with a lot of physical exertion on the part of the staff. The ranch store handles all types of alpaca fiber clothing and other items, especially yarns from their own animals.

This beautiful family owned ranch outside of Mora, has more than 300 alpaca. Originally a domesticated animal from Peru, the family started with 14 animals about 25 years ago. For a small fee, you get info on the animals and farm, and then the highlight, going out with the young ones and hand feeding them. They have the most adorable faces. It was fabulous. Besides the animals, there is a beautiful gift store with lots of incredibly beautiful yarn (some of it even has the name of the animal it came from). If you like to knit, you would love it (they also sell online). Non knitters, they have clothing, mittens, hats, rugs, blankets, etc. It was an hour drive from Taos, over a beautiful mountain road. Well, well worth taking a look.

Victory Ranch is a nice one hour drive from Taos. We had ample time to feed the alpacas and got some great pictures. It's definitely worth a stop and unless you hate animals, you'll love hanging out with the alpacas! There are also lots of other animals, including llamas, friendly dogs, cats, etc. A lovely family run operation.

On a recent trip to Santa Fe, my husband discovered this beautiful alpaca farm outside Las Vegas NM and it was a fabulous visit! Its only about an hour and half from San Fe, the drive is gorgeous and the farm is such a pleasure. One of the most beautiful spots I've ever seen in our extensive travels in the US. The people were super friendly and so knowledgable about their animals (family farm, one of the largest in the US) and the time interacting with the alpacas was priceless. They are so beautiful and gentle creatures, it was so rewarding to soak up the energy of the eco-friendly farm and to just spend time with the animals. The gift shop was a welcome surprise, beautiful things, some made with the yarn from the farms' alpacas. Also, lots of gorgeous yarns if you're a knitter -- speciality yarns that are so soft and beautifully colored (many natural colors of the animals). If you have any spare time in a Santa Fe visit, seriously consider this half day trip to Victory Ranch - it was a true pleasure and we plan on going back!

As you drive towards the entrance to Victory Ranch, you see many alpacas and a few llamas in the fields. Very beautiful scene. For a $5 fee, you can get a "tour." Mainly this is spending time in a large corral with the one year old alpacas feeding them and listening to your guide. Our guide was a young guy who was spending his second summer at the ranch. He was very knowledgable and was willing to answer all of our questions. We were the only people on the tour, so we got lots of attention. Loved the alpacas. They are very endearing. The last tour of the day is at 3. There is a gift shop with a wonderful selection of yarn. Each skein has the alpaca's name on it! So if you saw Joy out in the field, you could also see Joy's wool in the gift shop. :) Forgot to mention, all the alpacas have names. The ranch also has two pot bellied Vietnamese pigs, several Great Pyrenees dogs, and a few llamas. Fun place to visit. Take your time.

It's fun to visit this ranch on the way to Mora, NM, and the people are friendly. They have lots of big herding dogs who are very friendly, and it's interesting to learn about the alpaca. Gift shop is a yarn lover's paradise, if you knit or crochet you will enjoy it. At certain times you can pay to feed and pet the baby alpacas, which raised my endorphins and made my day.

Actual address is PO Box 600, Mora, NM 87732. It is just up the road from Las Vegas, NM.Got an extra day in Santa Fe area? Drive to Mora and visit a working Alpaca ranch. Feed the animals at 10, 1 or 3 and spend 30 minutes with 15-20 young, gentle animals and a great guide to learn about them Lots of fun and educational.
