A short walk from Pueblo Bonito, this site is an excellent exposition of the variety of accommodations and one can view of petroglyphs on the path between Pueblo Bonito and this site.

This is right behind the visitor center at Chaco Canyon. We did the trail during a Ranger led trail talk. It was good. Good way to start off your visit of Chaco ruins.

This is the first site you'll explore on your tour, with the trailhead located adjacent to the visitor's center parking lot. It is also the longest walk, with a quarter mile hike just to reach the ruins. Be sure to continue on and see the petroglyphs on the rocks above the ruins. If you don't feel like walking, you can get a decent view of the ruins just by driving to the next sites from the parking lot.

The generic description is incorrect. Although this is the closest Great House to the park's visitor center, several others are much closer to the typical mode of transport within the park - your car or bike. The structure is up a short trail (I'd guess a 0.4 mile from the visitor center parking lot to the center of the ruin complex) some of which is uphill. It's not difficult to get to; it's just not the easiest to get to.Una Vida is one of the older sites, with its construction starting around 850 AD. Although there have been some archaeological excavations here, the dirt was backfilled to protect the site and there is no reconstruction or dramatic stablization. This looks very much as whites coming into the area saw it in the 1800's.A handy guide can be purchased for less than a dollar at the visitor's center, but there are generally trail guides in a box at the trailhead that you can borrow and return. On the cliff face above and behind the ruin there is a beautiful petroglyph panel, which can only be seen by making the short steep hike uphill. There is no separate fee to view Una Vida once you pay park admission.
