Enjoyed stay weather was nice for December friendly staff and clean. Great landscap and stars! Towns a little distance away make sure you are well suppied. Other than Carlsbad and Artisan barren but nice towns just the same.

Parks, trees, water, pathways. It is all here for you to enjoy. Developed since the 1930's and improved every year since, this lake as swimming, boating or you can just sit on the grass in the park and relax. There are developed areas for picnics and other activities. There is a boat launch and you can run your boat up and down the lake if you wish. There is also a developed swimming area which is a great place to go on a hot summer day. Check it out if you are in town. From North or South of Carlsbad come in on US 285/Canal Street and follow the signs to "The Beach."

We really like walking at the.river. it is nice having a lake in the middle of the desert. You can walk the upper or lower dam or both. They have now.added some workout equipment in the park so, you can.make your workout more intense.

We really like walking in the lake recreation area. It is quiet and a pleasant walk. If you walk both sides it is a little over 2 miles. They are adding some exercise equipment in the playground areas, so it will add some intensity to your walk. You can stop and do some exercises in between your walk.

Unfriendly people ,water dirty , no slides or dive boards concession prices were to high , bathrooms were nasty no toilet paper broken glass on beach trash over flowing

Snacks, drinks available. I just wish their hours covered the entire season. It seems they are closed more than they are open.

Lake Carlsbad Recreation Area is a must-do for anyone visiting this area! The 125+ acre park is loaded with shade trees, picnic tables, and playground areas. A beautiful meandering walkway borders the river/lake (on both sides). Restrooms are clean and conveniently placed. The highlight is of Lake Carlsbad is the lovely little beach with lifeguards and pedal boat rentals. There is a footbridge set up that goes to a little swimming island -with even more picnic tables. The nearby bathhouse is clean and well maintained. Boating and PWC are both big here. We love this recreation area and so do the kids! Food is available next to the beach... Here's your chance to try a pickle snow cone!

Carlsbad is horrible. Dit is het enig wat de moeite waard is. Strandje aan de rivier met bankjes. tafeltjes en toilet. Je kunt er zwemmen en vissen.

Enfin un peu d'eau dans cet état si désertique! ;-) Nous étions contents de faire une pause en voiture et de nous dégourdir les jambes au bord de l'eau. Le bord de la rivière était très bien aménagée. Nous avons fait une balade avec notre petite fille en poussette sans aucune embuche pour une fois! Tout le monde s'est régalé. Nous avons croisé des gens sympathiques et souriants, des animaux intéressants pour notre fille (canards, oiseaux, chiens...). Un petit quartier tranquille et très agréable pour se promener un moment...
