Clementon lake park I a family owned amusement park. It is very clean. You can purchase food or bring your own picnic. All the rides are in good condition and the kids will live the place.
If you like cursing kids(and parents) & you enjoy mixing with low life, then you will like this place. It was great 25 years ago,but the "people" have changed for the worse. Don't waste your money!
Dear Dugtown94 NJ,Thank you for visiting Clementon Park and Splash World during our annual Appreciation Weekend and for taking the time to let folks know about your experience. Comments such as yours are hard to receive but we do appreciate them as they guide us to getting better. You are right, the weather on the day of your visit was not conducive to enjoying our full scale water park. We have invested million of dollars in improvements to Splash World over the last few years and I regret that you and your party were not able to take in all of the wet and wild fun it has to offer, including the relatively new Big Wave Bay, the largest wave pool in South Jersey. Had it been sunny and warm and you and your group had gotten to enjoy the water park I suspect you may feel differently about the value you received versus the cost of admission. I apologize that you feel the dispatch times on our rides in the dry park were below certain unmentioned industry standards. We spend hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars training our rides employees to be friendly, safe AND efficient while operating our rides but apparently on this day we stumbled a bit when it came to loading them as quickly as usual. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Actually, the entire Park offers 17 rides plus a mid-size water park providing a full day of fun for families in the region and is an especially good fit for working class families looking for a close-to-home, affordable and quality entertainment experience. As for the Park's layout, I think it's important to point out that Clementon Park and Splash World is one of the few remaining organic trolley parks, one that opened in 1907 and has been gradually modified and improved over the many years it has been in operation. Its unusual layout is a product of these many years of changes and, we feel, contributes to the Park's unique flavor and charm.Thank you again for visiting an for offering your thoughts. I do hope you will once again decide to give us another go when the weather is better.Sincerely,David DormanVice President/General Manager
Dear Rhino1974,Thanks for spending a day Clementon Park and Splash World over last Labor Day weekend. We appreciate your business as well as you taking the time to write a review. You are right about the Park having a brisk attendance day as most folks visiting were getting in a last-of-the-summer family day of fun before school went back and were participating in our special Labor Day weekend promotions. We work very hard to provide a full complement of all 17 rides and every attraction in our full-scale water park every single day, but sometimes we fail. In this case, we regret that the Endless River, our huge quarter-mile lazy river attraction, opened late on the day you visited. I am hopeful, though, that for the five hours or so that it was open that day that you and your party had ample time to enjoy a relaxing float. Thanks again for visiting. We do hope you will give us another try on a day that's not so busy.Sincerely,David DormanVice President/General Manager
I took my family to this water park this past tuesday since it was on the way to DC for our annual family trip. My wife and I were really excited since the website makes it seem like this park is awesome..Having been to many water parks in my life, I can say that this by far the most sketchy, unenjoyable water park I have ever been to.First, we arrive and "security" empties all of our ice water bottles..it is 95 degrees and they say it is for security reasons even though I drank the water to show it is not a hazardous and I am not sneaking in explosive water with my 4 young children..Apparently they are told to empty bottles so I will buy water there at $3.50 a bottle (there is only warm water there from the bathrooms to fill up the bottles)Next we head off to the lazy river and surprise, it's closed...how can you close one of the most important rides at a water park and not tell people in advance? They said it was because they were short-staffed and it was too dangerous with our enough lifeguards....so we go to the log flume..alas, that ride is closed as well....so off to the water slides and you guessed it, one of the 2 slides are closed so this line is over an hour long (BTW, it's 2pm so the park is relatively empty, and yet the line is insane)...so we all head to the river rapids. Apparently, they have only 2 rafts that aren't punctured so we have to wait 90 minutes to go down this 30 second ride..people were furiousWait it gets much worse....there are bees everywhere..and I mean everywhere...swarms and swarms of bees...my kids are freaking out and my daughter is highly allergic to bees..I take the children after the ride to get a bite to eat and there are even more bees by the food areas. it's as if they are breeding the bees there and there are hives everywhere...but it is not just by the food as the company VP says below..bees are everywhere, by the wave pool, gift shops, roller coaster (which must be from the year1900)Next we head to the kids area...you guessed it! the climbing ride was closed as well..I am getting really annoyed so I go to the manager on duty and ask for my money back immediately and they tell, "don't worry, the log flume will be opening within the hour"...Their policy is credit only..when am I going back to Clemendon, NJ? and why would I ever want to go back thereThis place is a rip off...don't waste your time and money!AJ
The park is never that crowded, that is until the NJ Transit bus pulls up and South Jerseys finest residents pour into the park. By 1 or 2 pm this park will be bursting at the seems. Thousands of people for a dozen rides and a half dozen water slides. You do the math. Kids running unattended, parents acting like children, cops no where to be found. This place was once a great park to go to on a weekend. Now its only known for being an overpriced dump filled with the residents of the most dangerous city in America. Furthermore, the lines for the waterslides are often hundreds of people long. Don't eat the food! Walk over to Scotto Pizza in the shopping plaza a block away. The food is great and you will finally enjoy spending a few dollars on your day. Stay away.
We picked a beautiful day to enjoy the amusements and water park. Yes, it is quite a bit smaller than other parks but it is a local park with enough fun for the day. After reading some of the reviews, I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I had been there several years before. Overall, I found the park to be very clean (I was even looking for trash, debris, etc but found NONE) and the crowd family friendly. I was happy to find Philly pretzel with reasonable pretzel dog snacks for $3 each. Yes, you do have to pay for parking now but it's $10 vs Six flags at $25. I do agree with a previous reviewer about the wooden roller coaster. I believe it is too jerky and jostling to be considered safe. I would NOT recommend anyone over 45 to ride it unless you want neck pain for the next few days. All in all, my kids (age 16 7& 18) and I had a fun day checking out the rides and enjoying the water park.
I took my two year old grandson to Clementon Park last Friday for some fun on the kiddie rides shown on their web site. We went over to the kiddie area and only one person was there to operate about six rides. I was told this by the one person working this area when I tried to put him on one of the rides. Waste of time. $10.00 to park the car also a rip off.
Dear SJGO4,Thank you for recently bringing your family to Clementon Park and Splash World and for taking the time to tell folks about your experience. I am pleased to read that that everybody liked the water park; we have added lots of new attractions over the past few years and it's great that they are being enjoyed. I am hopeful that you and your family got to take in all the fun family rides in the dry park, too.I apologize that those pesky bees were a problem on the day you visited. Around this part of the country and at this time of year, these honey bees are out looking for food and unfortunately a spilled soda or a discarded funnel cake can attract quite a few. Please know that we work as hard as we can to clean up spills as quickly as possible and empty trash receptacles as soon as we notice bees around it, but it's an ongoing challenge and occasionally we may lose the upper hand. But we'll keep battling them!Thank you again for visiting and for your positive review.Sincerely,David DormanVice President/General Manager
Dear jj198100,Thanks for recently making a day of it at Clementon Park and Splash World and for telling others about your experience. I am super pleased to read that everyone had a great time and that you feel you recieved great value for the money. We have added quite a few new attractions in the last few years and have also worked very hard improve the entire operation from cleanliness to guest service and it is gratifying to know the effort is paying off in the form of families like yours making lasting memories at our Park. And we take great pride in being able to do this at an affordable price to our Guests. Please come see us again soon!Sincerely,David DormanVice President/General Manager
The park is okay. Because they don't have much rides, food, and games. The prices are also okay. It needs to improve its image as soon as possible. They need to have more rides, food, and games. The parks also need to be cleaned better. They also need to lower the prices.
We really enjoyed our visit to this park. Our group enjoyed the catering & the flexibility to being in our own picnic food in the pavilion. We were never concerned about food/drinks the entire time. The rides & water attractions were great & all of the family enjoyed themselves. This park also had a great gospel concert & other music groups throughout the day. Love this park! You do large groups well.
Dear ontheroadagainjc,Thank you very much for making a trip to Clementon Park and Splash World part of your travels to New Jersey. I hope the rest of your time in our state was as enjoyable as your visit to our Park.We greatly appreciate you taking the time to review our Park and are pleased that you and your family had a "great time". All the hard work we do in planning, preparing and delivering as good of an entertainment product as we can is all made worthwhile when we get complimented. It's wonderful knowing we were able to help you and your family make some fond and lasting memories. Please come see us again next summer!Sincerely,David DormanVice President/General Manager
Dear DarrenD,Thank you for recently visiting Clementon Park and Splash World and for taking the time to review the Park here on TripAdvisor. We truly appreciate hearing from our Guests and do our best to be responsive when a review is less than glowing.I apologize that on the day you visited that there were apparently a few unruly Guests who visited that day as part of a group. While many of our Guests each year do visit with a group, be it a school, camp or church group or as part of a corporate event, we hold these Guests to the very same standards of behavior that we do our non-group visitors. And while we do require that chaperones accompany most of these groups (in fact, we give chaperones free tickets in order to encourage more to come), sometimes one or two misbehaving youngsters can go a long way to compromising other Guest's experience that day. I apologize that we failed to notice the behavior you mention but will be sure to discuss your concerns with our leadership team.As for your comments about the Park itself, thank you for your positive remarks. We have worked very hard to improve the facility in every way over my seven years at the helm and it's good to know that it is being noticed.Sincerely,David DormanVice President/General Manager
Dear prgirl73,Thank you for visiting Clementon Park and Splash World this past June and for taking the time to tell folks about your experience here on TripAdvisor. Your positive remarks give us welcomed reassurance that the changes to the Park over the last few years are being noticed.I feel you are so right about the price of admission and the Park's close proximity. We know that today many families are looking for affordable ways to have fun together and with the many discount admission offers available plus how it does not take a lot of gas (or time) to get here, Clementon Park and Splash World truly is a fantastic alternative to those bigger, more expensive theme and water parks. Plus, for younger families, the Park is just the right size in that it's easy to manage and the kids are never too far away, yet there's still a full day's fun to be had.And I also appreciate your remark about the Park's cleanliness. We have become maniacal when it comes to keeping the grounds and restrooms clean and I'll venture to say that no park in the region is cleaner than Clementon Park and Splash World. Thanks again for your positive review.Sincerely,David DormanVice President/General Manager
