This is a very quiet park that is wonderful for a morning run. Because it is south Jersey, there are no hills. Not very large, but large enough to get back to nature and relax. Then, clean up and have dinner at Ye Olde Centerton Inn.
This park was beautiful. The ceremony of my best friend's wedding was here and it was a perfect place to exchange vows. The leaves were changing colors and the water was lovely. The sun came out at the most perfect time. I would suggest a trip to this State Park to anyone looking for a place to rest from the daily grind.
My grandpa brought me here when I was just a tot. I had no idea until recently how much history this park has. Many good memories here for me. Walked around the lake hundreds of times. Always have been fascinated by the waterfalls. Love the playground and the beach. Great place to spend a Saturday afternoon. Hope to bring my grand kids here one day.
Have been renting cabins here since I can remember. It's a really nice place to relax, boat, fish, run or hike. Within an hour of philly it's great for day trips too. We try to get here at least once a year.
Parvin Park is a very interesting forest park organized by Civilian Conservation Corps between 1933 and 1941. The central point of the park is the Parvin Lake - great for fishing, kayaking and canoeing. All bodies of water in the park - Thundergust Lake, Parvin Lake and Muddy Run are popular for fishing and boating. There is a public beach on Parvin lake with canoe rentals, refreshment stands, barbeques, picnic tables. Parvin park has cabins for rent, areas for private and group camping, visitor center, interpretative programs and a little nature center. Southern New Jersey does not have too many places to hike but Parvin park has beautiful trail. Especially recommended is the trail around the Parvin lake. It is 3.1 miles long and it is beautiful and safe due to its popularity. It is great for walking and running , perfect for 5K run preparation. It is also used by bikers. There are separate trails in Parvin for horseback riding. This place is attractive and popular year round but camping is seasonal. The trail around the lake is especially popular with women walking or running solo. There is no fee for entrance to the park, there is nominal fee for the beach.
