I have been going to this theater since the 90s. They closed for a bit, changed hands, converted to digital and redecorated. I really enjoy the location. Teaneck's downtown is a nice place to stroll, have a bite and take in a movie. (One caveat: parking is for 2 hours only.) The best thing about before and after is the great prices. Theaters are small a la the Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan. I like the intimate setting and the vintage movie-house feel. There's only one thing that I'm not keen on, given how small the theaters are, the seats are a bit too high and upright for complete comfort.
The new owner has not skimped in improving this theater.Seats are comfortable. Aisles are well lit. Sound system is terrific. Prices are reasonable. BRAVO!
Good prices, great popcorn. Good value for the movies and shows first run new releases. Nice, small town theater feel.
Teaneck movie theatre is a place for both young and old; for both residents and visitors. It is our hometown theatre that is an institution in its own right. It first opened in 1937 and has been showing movies for over 85 years. It was forced to close due to the expense of digital video equipment which the owner couldn't afford. When the lights of this theatre's marquis went dark, our town felt a great loss, hoping for its reopening. For two years, Cedar Lane was missing an important ingredient that entertained us all. When the lights went back on the Teaneck Cinema's Marquis, life seemed to be pumped back into our little town's main street. Our Historical Movie House went digital and we were all there to welcome it back. When you walk through its doors, you feel a flare of the old as rolling videotape images greet you on its walls and its carpet and new stadium seats and digital moviesentertain all those who want to get lost for a moment or two in the world of actors and actresses while leaving the real world outside. The price is right! The lights are on! Come and see for yourself! You won't be disappointed.Noel MouldovanTeaneck, New Jersey
