There is a huge amount of trees in New Brunswick, and quite a bit of water. You can even be in a town, such as Miramichi, and not be quite sure that you are in a town because there are so many trees. Frankly, it can be a little wearing. What a relief, then, to be in a town that is definitely a town on a bay. And it's beautiful. Charming wooden houses, inns and shops abound and it's a bit touristy shiny, but I don't care. It is such a pleasure to wander about its streets and take in the atmosphere that seems to go back to the Atlantic coast's history. I was born on an island and the air's salty smell provoked a warm nostalgia. It would take a few days to become fully immersed in the atmosphere, the history and the life of the ocean. So well worth a visit.
