Fun little waterparks, great for small kids. However was overcrowded when we were there. Suggest mgmt restrict usage to hotel guests only.Needs more oversight. Lots of wild kids running everywhere. Small children in hot tub. Beer drinking everywhere. Needs some improvement in cracking down on bad behavior.
For that size hotel, the water park is way too small. Was crowded all day long. Not to mention locals can go in there. Couldn't go on the tube slide because all 12 tubes were taken and people didn't share. Lazy river is about 30 feet all around. Kids area would be fun if you have very young children. My 4 & 7 year were not impressed with that area. Very small hot tub. Slides are fun if you can get on them! There are only two and one requires a tube.
Not our first waterpark visit to beat the winter doldrums but this one was like winter on the inside. a few teenage lifegaurds, no one enforcing safety
Recently stayed at the Holiday and I was disappointed. No coffee in the lobby or discount on breakfast for Rewards members. Tried to use the microwave in the room, it took 40 to heat up one bowl of pasta. Asked the front desk for a new and they delivered it soon afterwards. Pillows were labeled soft and firm ,but really couldn't tell the difference. Beds were OK. Heard there was a great water park , but did not visit it. Workout room was nice. Generally the building needed some public areas cleaning and some fleshing.
The water park was ok. Not real big, but done ok. There are two slides and a few other things for young kids to do. Kids over 9 or 10 will get bored pretty quick. The rooms were nice and clean. But when we tried to sleep we found out that there was light over the window on the outside and the curtains don't close all the way. On the "bright" side you will not need a night light to go to the bathroom. It might have just been our room, but I would recommend staying away from room 214.
Great place to meet my little grandchildren during the winter. The lazy river is perfect for Gran and a toddler(like bath water). You can order pizza from the pool area to be brought over from the restaurant. One water slide for double tubes, the other just individual. The swimming /wading area happened to be too cold for us last time I was there. Also, It would be ideal if they made the pool available during the morning, during the week. That would be a great time for little ones that arent in school yet. You do not have to be a guest at Holiday Inn to use the pool. $12. Under 2 free.
the stay at the hoilday inn serengeti was dissapointing. we arrived to the hotel and there was full line the staff took forever to get a room. the water park did not looked in great sape. the waterslids had strachs and craks. plus a kid pooped in the pool. a couple kids in the pool notched so we had to get out of the pool. then i went to my room and took good shower. but before i found hair so i cleaned it off :(. so i went back to my house and we never returned.
Water park is getting crudy , the floors are slimey my kid fell smacked his head pretty good , bathrooms were gross , Im mean GROSS!!! crap all over . Im a gold member for Holiday Inn , the desk said my company was not on there there list for a discount , she wouldnt even look . The breakfest was terrible , expensive. For 300.00 for one night it should be no more than a regular hotel , way to expensive for what it is. I do not plan on ever going back to this water park . If you want to even call it a water park .
We really like going to the waterpark for a quick getaway close to home. We were disappointed that the basketball hoops were in repair while we were there but when they get fixed the boys will be happy again!!!
We loved that the water was so warm and the lifegaurds were so attentive. Always fun and we love visiting this attraction.
We have had birthday and scout parties. It is always a good time for all ages. Nice concesson stand for a meal or just an ice cream.
We traveled here with our 2 year old, who loves water. We went two times during our stay at the Holiday Inn - once later afternoon, and once at about 6:30 in the evening. It was much quieter when we went later during the day as I think most visitors were eating supper. The park offered a nice small slide and splash area for litle ones connect to a swallow pool, which was also connected to a deeper pool with basketball hoops. The deeper pool was very busy with older kids and was too busy for our son. The slide was great though as was the splash area. The lazy river was not much of a river, so don't go expecting a long lazy river. We did not go down the large slides, but they looked like fun. For as small of an area, there was chairs available both visits and plenty of towels too. The locker room was gross, but we had a room at the hotel near by so this was not an issue. The lifeguards do all take a break periodically but this is standard for water parks and pools anyway.
We live in Twin Cities so we took a quick trip to Owatonna to stay at the Holiday Inn. They have a nice water park and accepted pets. Our girls were 6 & 4 so they we good ages use the water park. The park is free for guests. It has a fun tube slide, great shallow depth area for little ones, life guards on staff and some snacks available. The lazy river and the tube slide were our prime fun times. Oh- the hot tube is nice too.
The waterpark is perfect for toddlers/preschoolers. My group had so much fun. It certainly can get crowded though. Also, towels can be difficult to find and are quite small. The hotel rooms are clean and functional. The late check-in time, however, is a pain. I had requested that my room be ready early, but it wasn't. Also, the restaurant was expensive and of poor quality. We were there for the end of the breakfast buffet. We couldn't order from the menu, but they also wouldn't put out more food. We paid $10 a person for cereal and eggs. They wouldn't even put out fruit. My kids sure had a great time at the waterpark, so it was still a blast.
