artisan grain distillery

If you find yourself in the Downtown Davenport Area, this is something worth seeing. While visiting I got to meet the master distiller and he was a wealth of information on not only the distilling process but the history of the area. Apparently, the location was one of the first Buick Dealerships west of the Mississippi. And, the place is located in middle of one of the really historic areas of Davenport, Iowa. The owner shared stories of Abe Lincoln, the first bridge over the Mississippi and the Civil War history of Davenport.When you get there you get an up close and personal tour of the whole distilling process. And, you get to sample their wares. Which is currently moonshine/white whiskey. They are getting ready to put whiskey into barrels to begin making bourbon. And, sometime in the future will be turning out rum, gin and a whole lot of flavored products.They are across the street from some cool antique stores and an artist colony. There are restaurants and a brewery within a few hundred feet of their location. It's a good spot to stretch your legs and check out the vibe of Davenport in the early 1900's. Ask the owner to see the hundred plus year old whiskey bottle unearthed during some of their renovations.Oh, I forgot to mention, I picked up a Mason Jar of their moonshine whiskey. Pretty cool to see everything from the locally grown corn to the big pots it is made in then sample the product. I was there in the afternoon, but I understand they are open later on Friday and Saturday night. I plan to stop by next time I hit the River Music Experience which is about 3 blocks away.

This is one of the best shines that I have had in a long time. The way that they educate you on how to actually mix with other products and there process of distilling the product was fantastic. Allen the owner, was more than happy to give me a tour and let me see how the process worked.

Such a great local distillery! They offer tours which was very fascinating. The tasting was definitely my favorite part, we felt included in the process as they let us sample from different stages of the distilling. Price is very reasonable and a great learning experience. Going to bring more people next time!

Employees are wonderful and the moonshine is really good it was very clean and I would recommend this to other people. I will be back for sure

They say that young Abraham Lincoln once drank whiskey from a barrel he held over his head, to win a bet for a hat from Bill Green.We were delighted by list Davenport Iowa Whiskey. Have some fun watching how its made.
