Cool place to go look at. I wished I would have had more time to look at everything. Would like to participate in their annual Halloween festivities.
We stumbled upon this place while we were touring around the Twin Falls area. While the site is certainly intersting and the buildings and artifacts worth the visit, what really made this a great stop was the gentleman who gave us a tour of the house. I believe his name was Gary (apologies if I'm incorrect) and he told us wonderful stories, treated my children very well, and made the whole visit memorable and pleasant. What we thought would be a 15 minute stop ended up being an hour or more of fun. Great place, and a great volunteer!
if you're tracking the pioneers' adventures, this is an interesting stop. When you walk around the self-guided tour, you have to do a lot of imagining, but that's OK. It's worth it.
Volunteers take turns sharing facts and stories of the 100 year old historical sight. Actual buildings still standing and you can go inside of them as you tour. Well worth the short trip south off of I-84 at exit 182. So much more fastenating than historical marker reader boards.
I've read up on the history here and used to duck hunt around the area.It has quite a few stories about Indians and homesteaders that are great.
