elmer's fountain

Elmer's Fountain sits on the S. side of I-90 near Mullan Idaho. You have to look for it and there is a dedicated pull out so you can get a better look, and to stretch.Elmer Almquist, a part owner of the Sunshine Mine, took this over many years ago from his buddy Arnold, it used to be "Arnold's Fountain". He improved and maintained it. Water is stored uphill in a mine tunnel so that it won't freeze and the fountain can work all year.The family sandblasts it and paints the features from time to time.Pretty neat, just a freebie for us all to enjoy.
