We went to 3 Palms Petting Zoo to see the animals and the Christmas lights. We were pleasantly surprised to experience this wonderful little zoo. The lights were cute and they had a bonfire, a great guy signing and playing the guitar, hot chocolate and marshmallows to roast. But, the best part was all the animals. They have quite a variety and almost all are rescues. We loved seeing the raccoon, skunks, and possum. The also have an incredible variety of birds. The cages are very clean with heat lights and fresh water. After talking to the people that work there you can tell they really care about the animals. We can't wait to go back in the spring and see the alligator and hedgehog.

We took our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter here. She didn't want to leave. It's an authentic petting zoo, the chickens and roosters (and some ducks/geese) run free throughout the zoo. The staff are friendly and greet you upon arrival. They give you bamboo to feed many of the animals there (llamas, alpaca, donkey, etc). There are also chicken feed and duck feed machines (bubble-gum style, put a quarter in). It is nicely landscaped and has clear paths to walk on. The staff help open the cages so visitors can pet the guinea pigs and bunny. When they say you can get "up close and personal" with the animals, they really mean it. The chickens, ducks and geese walk right up to you! We had a chance to see the peacock with it's feathers extended and then closed, close up. The raccoon was fun to see up close and watch. All the animals are very accessible. Wear sneakers though and then bring a change of shoes, as the ducks like to leave "presents" on the paths. Also bring lots of quarters to feed the chickens & ducks. Also recommended: bug spray, it's in the woods.I believe it's $ 5 for a group, so the whole family can go (and a few friends) without breaking the bank.
