If you are used to Caribbean resort beaches, as we are, you will be greatly disappointed here. Last week we, two families, stayed in the area for few hot days and went to this beach just ones. We were able to stay for half an hour, as it was a peek of fly season, so we got bitten and annoyed. We spent half of the time in the water and wouldn't do it again. The water was unappealing brown, shallow, and the thought of crabs was overpowering. The crab is truly amazing, by the way. You might want to get familiar with it in advance, if you are planning to come here.I believe, this beach would be really nice for long walks when it's not hot.

First time my husband has ever seen a horseshoe crab. We spent the whole day on the beach and learned more from the locals. Would definitely go again.

Great beach access, busy, but not overwhelmed. Parking is convenient. Facilities are great with public restrooms. This is absolutely one of the best beaches! Its got action, but isn't ridiculously busy like Rehoboth, Dewey or Lewes.

This town is the perfect place for those who want to RELAX! It's the kind of town where you take long walks on the natural beach, see many species of birds and marvel that there are more stars in the sky than you ever knew existed. It's the perfect place for a peaceful adult getaway and a safe, friendly town for families. The only amenities are the small playground, basketball courts, tennis courts and, of course, the beach! It's a great place to ride bikes too because there is very little traffic. BTW, Tripadvisor has it listed incorrectly as Dover, DE. It's actually a part of Milford, DE in Sussex county. It's about 25 minutes north of Rehoboth Beach.

We love coming here, but we also love nature. We come here about once a week. I would not want to swim in this water as it is VERY brown with blobs of brown stuff. There are horseshoe crabs here (mostly dead with flies) that are neat to see and save. It is not crowded and there are plenty of places to park.I have noticed people with dogs not cleaning up after their dog goes (shame) and garbage on the beach, so be careful where you walk. I wish they had a general store, but they do have a firehouse with clean bathrooms outside by the shelter. Overall a nice place to tan or walk or observe nature.

Went here with my family. Fairly clean, although bathrooms= ><. Only locals go here, so if you want a good view of the Delaware Bay without all the tourists, I'd recommend this beach.

The day we went to Slaughter Beach, a Sunday afternoon with perfect beach weather, there were maybe a couple dozen people there. We were able to park just a few feet from the beach. The water was nice. Just recognize that there's nothing here - no concession stands or vending machines - so if you're going to be there more than a couple of hours, bring drinks/snacks. There's a covered area with a few picnic tables and restrooms that probably hadn't been cleaned in at least a month. Be sure to bring watershoes because there are a lot of pebbles as you enter the water and the rocks are still there out to chest-high water.

I have been here twice in the past year and I love the seclusion of it. Each time, I have come from Rehoboth/Cape Henlopen and have gone from feeling stressed to feeling completely at ease here. It is the place to come if you hate crowds and could not care less about attractions, restaurants and just want peace and tranquility (none of which you will find in any of the big beaches). At most there is only ever about a dozen or so families here - out of season you might have it to yourself. There are no facilities except for toilets (only open in season). There is a small convenience store within walking distance. Bring your own lunch and plan just to come here to relax. The beach does have horseshoe crabs littered on it, but I find them fascinating despite their sad end. I am skipping Rehoboth for this one now every time!

There were sting ray all over washed up on this beach. Very secluded, just a few houses. Very quite, but nowhere to get even a drink. I would suggest driving about 10 more miles south to Lewes Beach.
