We spent the day here hiking, looking at the rocks, vegetation and the Fielding Garr Ranch. The tufa and ooid rock deposits were interesting. The ranch teaches you about how hard it must have been for settlers. The kids liked hiking and the ranch. Everyone enjoyed seeing the buffalo and antelope. The visitor's center shows the Salt Lake brine shrimp and teaches about the salt in the lake.

Great park to see wild life. We saw Bison, Antelope, Coyotes, and many birds. We had a 3pm flight out so we went to this park which is 1/2hr north of SLC. Left Deer Valley at 8:15am and arrived at the park at 9:30am, toured around then headed to the airport for lunch then our flight. Highly recommend this park.

Visited during off-peak season and avoided the crowds. During our drive around the island we saw bison, pronghorn antelope, mule deer, coyotes, and numerous birds including a chukar. Visitor's Center was informative and included a nice gift shop.

In a day you can see coyotes, pronghorns, bison, a beautiful sunset, the snow-capped mountains surrounding the Great Salt Lake, and a nice view of downtown Salt Lake City. At least we were able to accomplish all of these. There is also the possibility of finding bobcats, large mule deer and bighorn sheep, although the only place to possibly see the latter is on the Frary Peak trail as there are no other trails that lead to where the sheep live as you cannot get to the entire West side of the island other than by the White Rock Bay. Enter the island via the northern causeway (the southern causeway has been closed for quite some time although if you hike along the Southern part of the island you can find its remnant). Garr Ranch is worth a brief stop, but I would spend my time searching for the animals instead.

We were touring out west the month of September and we were in Salt Lake City & found info in Trip Advisor about park. So we headed to Antelope Island to explore!!What a fascinating place to visit. The Visitor Center was a great starting place and then the Garr ranch. We saw so many animals just driving around. What a treat!

Great place to visit, go for a hike or a bike ride out there. Check out the bison and the weather has been perfect this winter. Nice to get out.

This place is pretty cool I've been out here a few times. Once we mnt biked with the kids some of the trails are pretty tough for the little ones but not horrible. Weve also hiked out here a few times one hike was to the top of frary peak. This wasnt to bad until you reach the radio tower and from there it is not kid friendly or out of shape grownup friendly it gets steep andbif you slip or fall in some places could definately end your life or at least your hiking days. The views from the top are amazing its almost like as if you were in the middle of the ocean when you look out to the west. Only go in early spring or late fall because there is no shade and a ton of biting flies in the summer.

Left Salt Lake City, heading north decided to visit Antelope Island per recommendation in Trip Advisor. Easy drive across causeway to island. We were there early morning in mid-September and were relatively alone (saw three other cars). There were still plenty of mosquitoes thirsting for the limited blood available. The visitor center was a very good introduction to the history, natural fauna, wildlife and bison to be found on the island. We began there and planned our half day drive route viewing the lake, mountains, vistas and lots of bison, pronghorn, coyote and this must be birders destination. We did not have the time but noted many opportunities to hike up trails onto the open landscape. No forests. This is a good break from the city and just relax while finding bison close to the roadway and antelope in the near distance.

I Great day trip the island is so unique lots of bison and antelope with an old 1800s ranch to explore. Trails for mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding. A photographers paradise just take a lunch because you will find lots of things to see and you will stay longer than you think. Have fun and enjoy it's spectacular.

Went to explore and take photos of the scenery. Excellent chance to try out several lens on my camera. The Bison were not scared, they would just continue to eat or rest, we didn't bother them at all. The Fielding Garr Ranch was amazing. To see a house built back in 1848 and still on its original foundation was just fantastic. Its a hands on museum, you can walk thru all the buildings and get a feel of what it was really like way back then. The nature photo's that I took there were just outstanding. Will definitely go back next time we are in this area.

An easy drive from Salt Lake City and a great way to see bison, coyotes, deer, bighorn sheep and other animals. Remember to take food if you're spending the day as options are limited on the island out of season.

We went here on our honeymoon as our last stop before our flight. We went horseback riding which was $50 for a half hour and the park admission was $10. After that we went to the beach and it was rank. There were bugs everywhere and it wasn't pleasant at all. But I couldn't be that close to the Great Salt Lake and not try floating in the water. I can't in freshwater, but I floated perfectly in the GSL. Worth going to.

On our two week girl's trip 5 of us stopped at Antelope Island State Park to run with the buffalo. Boy did we ever see a lot of buffalo! They were everywhere! We got out of our car and walked as close as we dared and took quite a few pictures with the buffalo behind us. They are a must see!
