stillhouse hollow falls

This is a great little place for a fun little hike. It's not too far for kids. It's very easy going down and a bit harder coming back up but the journey is well worth it. The bottom of the falls are very nice especially on a hit day. Kids will love playing around the falls. There are the remains of an old cabin at the bottom of the falls that is fun to explore. I love taking the kids here. I actually proposed to my wife here.

The hike to the falls and back is about a mile and a half--nothing too hard for the youngest of hikers to manage. We brought our 15-month-old and 4-year-old. I carried the baby in my Ergo and the kid walked the whole thing. The bottom of the falls itself is shady and cool with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, rocks to throw, logs to climb on, etc. This is a "natural area" and not a park. Don't expect amenities--there is are no toilets and just one little bench at the bottom of the falls. But you're there for the nature anyway!
