If I could give zero stars I would, but, alas, one star is the lowest I can give. As I do this review I anm on the boat and wish I had not wasted my money. The snack bar prices are worse than an airport. Save your money and take a tour of a waste disposal plant -- it would be cheaper and more intersting .
The website description made it sound like a great way to celebrate NYE, but it was actually a horibble waste of time & money! Never again! The dock was not sufficiently lit. We only saw the sidewalk after walking through the muddy grass to get to the boat. On board, dining, dancing & dj areas were all crammed into a tiny area with no room for moving around. The room was incredibly hot & dj blasted us out of our seats. DJ Jammin Jeff was horrible with music selection & played You Tube quality videos of everything from the Muppets to the Three Stooges. Bar service listed several types of beer, but they only had Bud & Bud Light. Catered meal was over cooked & meal service was poor as well. We're a 30 something couple who've travelled all over the world so, needless to say we were extremely disappointed & will never go back on the Pickwick for any cruise or recommend to our family & friends.
My husband and I decided to take the fall foliage tour (1.5 hours) their website made it sound really fun...although the weather was perfect (not much "fall" foliage yet, because of the weather) and the crew were extremely professional and courteous..the cruise itself was very boring, no narration or info on the Tennessee River or surrounding area, snack bar with soda and popcorn only. And NOT there is anything wrong with it, but we felt like we were in church. Apparently they never take off without a prayer and had one the pastors (passenger) come up and pray, most of the passengers on board were from church groups. Just kinda uncomfortable, seems like they cater to church groups and the elderly (LOTS) which is totally fine, but they need to give a clue on their website. We have gone on boats in the area, that have entertainment, a bigger snack bar and even serve Daiquiris and Pina Coladas. We were looking for fun, we could have gone to church for free, instead of paying $45.00 :( If thats what your looking for, thats absolutely fine). oh well thats what we should expect moving to the bible belt lol
Went on a trip from the Ingalls Harbor in Decatur AL. Was supposed to be a fun & games trip. Had Bingo and there were not even enough cards for everyone...and there were only about 20 people! Food was good, but a lousy combination (jumbo muffin, pasta salad & pimento cheese sandwich, out of date canned diet coke). No narration of the sights was provided. Did I mention that the air conditioning didn't work? Just lousy all around. This was a test run for Decatur. Needs a LOT of improvement! Definitely not worth the price.
