There are certain things we look forward to every year. Certain things that we plan vacations around... SWEET Fanny Adams Theatre is one of those things! They re-open in April and we have planned our trip!!!! We have missed it so much the last few months. If you visit Gatlinburg, this is a show you have to see. We went for our first time in 2011..... We have gone every year, several times a year since then! It is a must see. Quaint little theatre with amazing things happening inside.
We went down to Gatlinburg last month and saw the Christmas show with family. We all had a great time and felt like it was a good value compared to other shows we've gone back home. We'd recommend it and its good clean entertainment for families.
This show is edgy enough for teens, clean enough for kids, and zany just like I like it! We go at least three times a year. It's a family tradition! If you want something besides, or in addition to, the expensive, big theatre shows in Pigeon Forge, try Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre!
This was our third time at Sweet Fanny Adams theater we saw the show Malarkey on New Year's Eve it was spectacular. For the second time Hubby was called up on stage to perform. We had a wonderful hilarious time that night will definitely be back for more fun times.
The funniest show in the Smokies. Would love to see it again. All the actors are great performers. I recommend seeing this show.
This was my 4th time at Fanny Adams going back many years and, even though I've seen many of the skits multiple times, it never gets old. Chris is very funny and Jennifer is still beautiful. Chris' "greatest silent movie director" skit is amazing. He reminds me of a young Red Skelton. The actors have great fun with the audience and are in character from ordering tickets over the phone to saying goodbye as you leave the theater. It's a fun evening and a great value.
My favorite thing to do in Gatlinburg! Can't believe that someone saw the same show we did and gave it a bad review. I have seen many shows on Broadway and in theaters across the country and this one is one of my favorites. It is an intimate theater and I find it to be very quaint. The performers act very silly but my favorite is Tim as "Ms. Sphincter" -so funny!
Could not have chosen a better show, perfect for the family! We laughed for 2 hours!!! Highly recommend this show for everyone, price is great for the area as well.
I absolutely love love love this show! I will definitely be back! Everyone was so incredibly nice and hilarious!
I was very excited about going to this show because it's so highly reviewed. I was thoroughly disappointed. The theatre itself is retro cool and all seats are good seats. The concessions are a great value--2 cokes and a popcorn for $5. The staff are very friendly. The performers seem to love what they do, and it's family-friendly except for a few insinuations that young kids won't get. That was the good stuff. The restrooms are inconveniently located at the front by the stage. People kept coming back from the restrooms and literally having to step around the performers. It seemed very unprofessional as far as a paid show as that happened multiple times. It was like a grandma walking in front of the stage at a kid's elementary school program. The skits and jokes were too tired and old to be funny. I've seen and heard several of these skits and jokes at Church Retreats/Events and Youth Camp. "Rindercella" was read. I first read that in my H.S. Drama program. The jokes were of the quality out of a Cracker Barrel Store joke book. The dancing wasn't awful, but I've seen much better at other area shows. The singing was ok, but honestly I've heard much better singing at a college or church performance. There was a long silent movie skit where audience members performed. It was way too long. Again, I've seen this at Youth Camp. I love classic film and retro style, but this was not quite retro enough and it was too outdated to be modern. If Malarkey wants to be vaudeville, then go totally old-school--Eddie Canter songs, Cohen-style songs and acts. Give it a real Victorian flavor. As a high school teacher of American Lit., sponsor of the school's Film Appreciation Club, and supporter of HS Arts, I would've been very disappointed to take the kids on a field trip here as it is not a great example of either vaudeville or theatre. I hate to say it because the people are so nice, but Malarkey is just a terrible show.
If you are looking for something away from the hum drum, "normal" entertainment that you find in the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge area, then this place is an absolute must see!! The venue offers plays, of silly proportions, vaudeville acts that are sure to please, and if you are lucky, a trench coat dance, or perhaps the great paper dance, that will leave your stomach muscles aching from laughter. The theatre is small and intimate, which allows for lots of actor, crowd interaction, making the whole experience just that much more memorable. Don't waste your time, or money on one of the bigger advertised acts in the area...spend your money and your time here. The actors at Sweet Fanny's will make you VERY glad you spent your evening with them!
My family recently saw their Christmas show. It was not at all what I expected. The theater is small and cozy. The talent is awesome and is very funny. I was impressed and will return. This is a must see show.
Bought tickets for my wife and teenage daughter to Yuletide Madness. Thanks for making good ole Dad a hero! They think your theatre is the best thing they have ever experienced in Gatlinburg. We've done 4 Christmas vacations in The Smokeys. ..so that's quite an endorsement. My daughter plans on writing some fan mail to Jeremy as she just finds him adorable. Save us some seats...we're coming back next year! Best wishes for a prosperous 2015!...The Jacoby Family.
Was a little slow to start with some cheesy jokes but it got better as it went on! By the end my boyfriend and I (in 20s) really enjoyed it!
We wanted to see something different than the shows we have seen in Pigeon Forge. I liked that everyone were friendly. This show was both funny and entertaining. We will, definitely, be back to see this show again on our next trip!
