We seem to always stop by when we visit Buena Vista. The goats are fun to watch. We love sampling the cheeses and different products. We always leave with at least 3 different cheeses. Definetly worth stopping by.

Here's a great place to sample very good cheese, watch goats being milked (twice daily) and see how the family makes its cheeses. We stopped over for the night in our RVs (as part of the harvest hosts program) and were welcomed with a cheese tasting, then got to follow the goats home after their milking and even meet the kids – baby goats, not children! All-in-all a fun and welcoming place I have no hesitation in recommending.

What a hoot! Took grands for milking tour (4:30) and enjoyed it as much as they did. Wonderful cheese for purchase in the adjacent shop.

We stopped here Sept 8 on our first day in BV. The cheese was excellent. You can sample pretty much anything in the store. The lady working the store was so sweet. They do offer tours of the farm but we had our dogs with us in the car and couldnt stay for that. The chavre cheese spreads were my favorite. I am craving more! I guess you can order online too for holidays. What a cute place and you get to see the baby goats in the back behind the gift shop. Glad we saw this on tripadvisor because we will let people know who go to BV. Worth the stop for sure if you love goat cheese like me!

Took our two teenage daughters and went to the Saturday afternoon tour just to see the baby goats. But besides a tour of a working farm, my whole family learned an incredible amount about goats, sustainable farming, how the drought is effecting hay prices, elk migration and more. The animals are a treat: goats, pigs, horses, dogs and one calf who thinks she's a goat. Of course, the cheese is the real WOW factor here. Absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to get home and start lobbying my local grocery stores to carry it. We're already looking forward to going back again next year to see what improvements and changes she's made.

Jumpin' Good Goat Dairy, carries THE MOST amazing goat dairy I've ever enjoyed! I'm absolutely in love with their creme de la chevre. And Dawn and company are amazing enough to have ready big batches when I come to town (I email or call in advance) so I can carry stores home with me! <3 Definitely go in and try samples . . . there's nothing in the country store I wouldn't recommend. It's all YUMMY!!!!!

Awesome fun place with great cheeses. I have never had goat cheese before so I was skeptical when the other half wanted to go there. The wonderful lady that met us was the owner or at least the co-owner and was so very friendly. You are allowed to taste different things and pick what you like. We for sure went away with different cheeses as I'm sure all will. For sure take a min or two and stop in to see what they have, you'll be glad you did.

Before we arrived we had much ribbing about our planned Goat Dairy tour; Oh my heavens did we have a blast. First we were watching as these 13 goats come marching in to get milked and they seemed to like it; and then all who wanted got to help with milking the goats. Playing in the pen with the baby kids was just one of the highlights. We got to watch as they herded the outdoor goats with a young lady on horseback directing them in, we saw the Guard Llamas an dogs who protect the flock from coyotes and other predators, We also learned a lot about making goat cheese and storage as well as how this dairy came to be. It is owned and ran by a young lady and her family. They also had some wonderful samples to try and then you can take home some cheese for sale if you wish. For those who live in CO, some King Soopers will now be selling the Jumpin Good Goat cheese in the specialty cheese aisle, so I can restock at the grocery. Best $5 value, kids are less.

Mom, Dad, and kids ages 13, 11, and 8 loved every minute of the tour. We started in the cheese sampling cabin where we were encouraged to try everything from unique recipes like Hot Chocolate goat cheese to spreadable varieties with herbs or fruit. We were led to the miking room where everyone had opportunity to place the automated milking cups onto the goat teats. My 3 kids even tried milking by hand (which brought lots of laughs as a wayward stream of warm milk found its way onto Dad's arm). Lots of newborn kids in the petting area warmed right up to the entire group. Adults and children took their time petting and even holding the little goats. The cheese curing cellar lies 25 feet underground where the temp stays a perfect 56-62 degrees all year round. Cheese here can be cured for up to 20 years! Very informative guide answered every question and let us take our time in each area of the tour. The grounds, barns, and shop were very neat for a working farm. Delightful tour . . . $5.00/adults, $3.00/under 13.

Great experience learning about how to make goat cheese & other dairy products. Interesting place with goats, horses, pigs & dogs. Tour guide was very informative. The cheese cellar was amazing & very pungent. The petting area was filled with friendly young goats, a calf, & a sheep. The store was awesome & filled with lots of delicious items to taste & purchase. We're bring home quite a few things-the chèvre is our favorite.

This is so much fun! We enjoyed meeting the goats, learning of the breeding programs, feeding the babies, and learning about the cheese. Best of all ... the tasting of the variety of cheeses. One note -- don't bring your dog -- they cannot be on the property due to bio-regulations.

We went on one of their off tour days. They say they have a petting area and a store available all the time. There was no petting area that I could tell. The store was very small and understocked, which is fine for a small business. My problem was that the lady working there, while nice, knew nothing about the cheeses. I had hoped to get some advice on the best sellers or her favorite, and she had no idea.

Never heard of this place, but saw it on Trip Advisor and went with 7 kids (age 16 - 10), 2 adults. Great time! The goats themselves are amazing - but that is not all! You get to see the goat cheese making process, the storage cellar, walk to the barns, feed the goats, horses, pigs..it is all good! Since it was not milking time, the cheese plant tour brief is a little long (a video would be a great idea here!), but the rest is fabulous. My much reluctant kids LOVED it. Store is good too, and the price for the tour is just right! for the 1.5 hours spent here. Easy to find and worth the stop!

We went on the goat farm dairy tour with my in-laws. Our tour guide was the daughter of the owners of this family-run business. There were several families in the tour group, some with younger children. The guide explained how they prepare the goats for the milking machines, and we were able to see the milking room. She then talked about cheese production as we viewed the room where they make the cheese, and we could see some in bags with the whey draining from them. Then we went to the "cave" they built below ground level for aging the cheese. The one caveat with this is that while the steps were wide, there were no handrails. It's also rather dark when you first enter, though there are lights once you are down in the aging area. After discussing the cheese production, we were able to feed and visit the goats. Those who were interested could hold a baby goat as well. We were then shown how to manually milk a goat, and anyone in the group who wished to could do so. The kids enjoyed trying to milk the goat, and getting sprayed with warm goat milk. After washing up, we entered the retail shop. There are many samples of various cheeses they make there, and many others also on sale. We bought some feta, the smokin' chipotle and some of the creme de la chevre made with locally grown high altitude honey from Sweet Pea Apiary. It was a great deal for $5 per person, and we had some wonderful cheese to take with us afterwards. You need to call in advance to reserve a tour.
