This organization is outstanding. We were welcomed with a warm greeting, given a thorough explanation of safety & the basics of riding a horse. We were paired with perfect horses that fit each of our riding abilities. Mind you, my husband had never rode due to being afraid of horses. So, to say the least, this was a big accomplishment for us (myself & two daughters ages 12 & 14). Selecting the wrong ranch could have ended with him never riding with us again. Our guide, La-La, was extremely friendly, smiling throughout, eager to answer any questions, pointed out landmarks, and constantly checked on all riders for safety. We had six in our group & two in another group, making nine of us total. We spread out on the trail, not riding nose to tail, riding at individual speeds. All the horses were well trained & behaved. They took great care of the riders and descended home without showing any signs of being barn sour. We were impressed with the entire experience. We would highly recommend this company. Most importantly, my husband really enjoyed it. Yay, it looks like he may do this with us again in the future! :)
The advanced horseback ride was amazing! I had never trotted or cantered before, and they helped me get to that point. The horse was amazing. Our guide was stellar. The area we rode in was absolutely stunning. We want to take our kids next time!
The first thing I will say about these outfitters is "excellent" customer service! I called on a Thur or Fri and asked if they were having a "cattle round up" on Tues. They said, "We are now." How about that for accommodating the customer? It doesn't get any better! That alone is worth a 5-star rating!!Our family was looking for a different type of horse riding experience. We have all been on trail rides where it is the "follow-the-leader and don't get off the trail" routine. We didn't want to repeat that experience again, especially since all of our children are in college and all of us have ridden horses before. The Triple G Outfitters also delivered on the riding experience! We were met by Max, our wrangler for the day. He gave us a quick lesson on herding cattle. Next, it was off to get fitted for our horse. After that, it was out to the fields to wake up the cattle and get them rounded up. Once the herd was on its feet, we pushed them to the upper pasture where there was a watering hole. Max gave us pointers along the way and worked with my daughter in gaining her confidence on her horse. As this was no "trail" ride, the riders could go where they wanted. We were also given the freedom to get involved in the cattle round up as much or as little as we wanted. I stayed toward the back of the herd for most of the drive so I could take pictures of my family in action. After the cattle were settled, we went down another ridge to round up the strays. This was fun as these cattle were a little more "independent" minded and thus took a little more attention in rounding them up. We did not get all the strays but the few we found, we pushed to the water hole. As our time was nearly up, we took family pics on the horses with all the cattle in the background. Around 1 PM, it was time to head back to the stables. Everyone made it back safe and wanted to do it again. We tipped Max for his excellent service. We were fortunate to have Max as this was his last day at Triple G before he started his full time job as a professional hunting guide the next day. Bottom line: we would do the cattle drive again and have already recommended it to our friends!
This was my second visit to the ranch. This time we elected for the cattle roundup. Unbelieveable experience, the guides were a blast, and the freedom was excellent. Will return as soon as possible.
I went on the cattle ride with my 12 year old daughter who is an experienced rider. She dreads nose to tail trail rides and was hesitant to go out on a "vacation ride". That said, we could not have been happier with the day. The experience of riding on and off trails, up and down bluffs, and above all else, actually rounding up and herding the cattle to a new location, was beyond joyous. It was the best way to see the Colorado countryside and experience a working ranch.Thank you to everyone at the Triple G. You are all beyond excellent and you gave us pictures that we will cherish for a lifetime.
Everything about our 3 hour trail ride was beyond our expectations. Easy check in, lovely people (Theanne, our guide, was incredibly welcoming and an awesome ambassador of the life in Colorado), scenery that comes straight out of a movie set and gentle horses that know where to go. The smile you will have on your face after a morning here will remain for days.
We chose Triple G Outfitters because we went zip lining the week before with the same ranch and had a very positive experience. Also seemed a little less touristy than the stables at Vail or Beavercreek. I have three non-horseback riding girls (15,12,8). We all went on a 2 hour ride and had a terrific afternoon. Our guide Jesse was helpful, accommodating, concerned about safety and wanted our trip to be fun! They provided rain gear and a saddlebag for our cameras and water. I think the horses are all retired rodeo horses. They never spooked or did anything except be cooperative. My inexperienced 8 year old had no issues controlling her horse. The horses were clearly well cared for and their well being was a priority. Everything was clean and the horses seemed happy. We stopped to take pictures and rode around the entire ranch. It's amazingly arid and felt more like Arizona. Very picturesque! We would choose this horseback riding company again and would recommend to friends. I had a 15% off coupon. Plan on tipping your guide.
We took the 2 hour horseback ride and we were very impressed from the start. They have this new concept called Customer Service. We let them know about us (Experience, Body Style, Injuries, etc.) and they paired with a Horse. The Guide ensured all saddles fitted us, then we road. She quickly assessed our riding experience and let us enjoy the ride. Awesome Experience.
