这个是必去的。但我建议开车往Vail的方向走,然后在中间的位置再下来骑车。因为如果直接从城里骑车过去,很耗时间。那个景色很好,有点像迷你版的大峡谷!
This bike trail was a real gem for our family. All of us bike at differing levels, yet we could all ride out and back on the bike path and enjoy the views of the river. It was easy to find and use. Our family recommends this bike path!
A scenic ride along the Colorado river, well paved path and you have an option to stop at many scenic spots along the way, such as Grizzley creek and Hanging lake. Its a must for beauty of the Glenwood canyon with the steep walls of rocks to view and the river.
This is a great trail for sights. Not particularly challenging, except for altitude, since it follows the river. Some ambient noise from the freeway and occasional train. Glenwood Canyon is spectacular and the engineering of the interstate is amazing, if you like that sort of thing. Rarely crowded and people are mostly polite.
We love to ride this bike trail in the spring summer and fall, it's always beautiful and very well maintained. The only drawback is the I-70 traffic.
We rode to Glenwood and back from No Name and Glenwood Canyon Resort Campground. Some of the ride was fun to see as it was close to the river and the canyon walls. The last mile into Glenwood is along the interstate and although an easy ride, it is noisy and dirty from the interstate traffic, but of course the only way into town. We headed the other way from the campground after returning from Glenwood and found that the upper part of the trail was closed to bicycle traffic due to damage. Hopefully it will open again in the spring of 2015
There are 2 killer hills on this stretch, but it is otherwise an easy to bike trail that follows the Colorado river through the canyon. Great scenery comes with your exercise.
This has been always one of my favorite places to take a walk or a bike ride. Riding next to the rive in the canyon is simple amazing, there is no better experience than that, the scenaries are breathtaking and the sound of the river is relaxing. You may also see the train pass by, or see some people floating by the river. The trail is all paved and you have a few restroom stops in the way, because of its popularity, this trail can be busy, specially on the rest area points. Is an easy ride or walk (although it does have a couple of challenging short climbs) that you can do with the whole family. Believe me, is a must do in Glenwood Springs.
Located along a major interstate on one side and the Colorado River on the other this trail has some of the most beautiful scenery. Take a ride during the day and stop to watch the commercial rafting trips tackle the waves. The trail has some hills but it is paved and easy to get off your bike if you feel winded from the elevation. There are lots of places in Glenwood Springs to rent bikes and helmets and its a great way to spend a couple of hours. I like to ride from Grizzily to Hanging Lake. You won't be disappointed!
Used the bike rental service near Hotel Colorado which was fine. Trail is a nice wide, smooth sidewalk, mostly gentle coasting down canyon. A few good fishing holes are accessible from bike path downstream from Hanging Lake.
Lots of places to stop and relax along the river. It follows the highway for the most part and the engineering of the highway is a marvel!!
My wife and I have biked and hiked the Glenwood Canyon Bike Trail many times over the past 20 years. The vistas are always inspiring and beautiful. Looking up and the canyon walls is stunning. Our favorite stop is at Grizzly Creek which has picnic areas and rest facilities. Often, we just spread a blanket and sit down with food and drink in an ice chest. The paved trail is quite wide - enough for two bicycles to ride abreast or for 4 hikers to easily walk side-by-side. It is always a highlight of our trips to Glenwood Canyon and Glenwood Springs (where the west end of the trail starts).
bike trail goes along Colorado River and is on the bank opposite the train tracks; we rented from a firm that shuttled us upstream and left us with a 14 mile bike ride that was 90% downhill and not a problem for us average (or worse) conditioned retirees
It parallels the freeway most of the way, but you forget about that after a few minutes. Your attention is on the Colorado river & the canyon walls. Simply put, a gorgeous view. Mostly downhill, you follow the drop of the river for most of the trip. You will probably see kayakers, rafters, and people fishing along the way. Lots of places to stop for a snack, use a restroom, & take a hike (Hanging Lake)
Canyon Bikes proved to be a great choice for mechanically perfect bikes with very friendly service. That was a good choice as was letting them shuttle us up the canyon. That allowed us to begin the ride mid-morning, with warm weather, time for a picnic at Hanging Lake & a beautiful ride into town past a surprised bear. Between the views of the canyon, river and highway engineering it was a perfect activity.
