A very interesting--unusual-- power plant with an informative short video overview, knowledgeable tour guide, and attractive grounds with a short wet-lands trail. The Lansing Manor has been beautifully restored and furnished with period-appropriate objects, about 1/3 of which were original to the home. The account of slavery in the family needs updating: how could the home have been part of the Underground Railroad if the owners didn't free their slaves until 1863? Were the slaves really "happy" and "well treated" if slaves were sold, breaking up their families? Doesn't make sense.

we visited the visitors center on a beautiful clear day. It is of course in the country. The museum had some really interesting old items. On the lower floor, there were visuals about how the energy in the area is produced. The top floor is the museum. We would recommend this stop.

The visitors Center is quite interesting and it over looks the reservoir. The Lansing Manor has been restored to it's original elegance and different than other Historic Homes I have visited. I was intrigued. The tour guide for the Manor was very informative and friendly. There is no entrance charge for either places. The surrounding area is scenic rolling hills and mountains. Mount Utsayantha has the most beautiful views with a fire tower at the top. Interesting history in this area.

Always interested in power plants, decided to give this a stop and see what it was about. Excellent visitor center with good exhibits for the kids and an excellent video about the plant. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the plant and very friendly. The pictures of the two lakes, one a thousand feet above the other, and standing at lake level across from the plant just paused you to think what was going on in the mountain in front of you and 13 stories under the water. People interested in electrical generation and an unusual power plant, this is a must see.

Spent a couple of hours on the property with another couple. Lots of interesting information on hydro power. Kids and adults will enjoy the interactive activities. There is an exhibit showing wild animals that are native to the area and in the basement a movie about how the power plant was built. Also on the grounds and a must see is the Lansing Manor, complete with a tour. The house and grounds are beautifully preserved. We have toured both twice while staying locally at a campground. I must mention all are free of charge!

We stopped in and enjoyed looking around. I think we would have enjoyed it more if we had had young children as this place is a hands on exhibit. It provides a neat way for the kids to learn about electricity and how the power is generated. The exhibit with the construction photos was fantastic, I should mention that I work in the engineering/construction field so I already knew a good bit about electricity and construction. Besides the visitors center they have the Lansing Manor house which they give tours of, we did not take it as we were walking around outside in the nature environment and enjoying the scenery. We are glad we stopped in.
