This modestly-sized (80'x20'), remarkable Museum, tucked away in the Adirondacks near Paul Smiths College, is home to an enormous collection of Native American objects and artifacts, arts and crafts, tools, and other objects which represent primarily the Haudenosaunee (Six Nation Iroquois Confederacy) culture and there are representations of other Native American cultures as well. Every inch of the wall and ceiling space is filled with something interesting: paintings, beaded belts, baskets, feathered headgear, Native clothing, canoes and other objects used in every day living and/or prized for their craftsmanship and beauty.Built by a Native American Family in the 1950s to reflect the architecture of a traditional Haudenosaunee bark house, this very special place is filled not only with things, but with a spirit, a sacred-feeling 'vibe', that anyone with a wee bit of sensitivity will feel and enjoy. Great place for the whole family. You might even come away from your visit a different person.
