What a quaint way to take a trip back in time! The museum is open during the summer, and but even if the place isn't open inside, there is always the opportunity to take advantage of the wonderful outdoors...beautiful ocean views and a hiking path nearby, which takes a person along a great walk with more great views. A little walk on the grounds of the lighthouse itself takes you back into a history of the lightkeeper and perhaps his family who toiled day and night to keep the lamps going for the wayward sailors caught in a storm's grip or in the clutches of dense fog. The serenity and beauty will steal a heart away!

West Quoddy Light is a nice diversion on the trip into Canada. There are beautiful views from the grounds, and a small museum inside. Definitely not a place to stop for an extended period of time, but a pleasant place to get out and stretch your legs and take in the awesome scenery. It is also a great place to get a few nice photos! The museum is only a couple rooms, but it gives a nice history of not only the lighthouse but the surrounding area.

Went to Lubec, Maine to see West Quoddy Head Light....so happy we made it there!Great spot on the water! Loved the stripped lighthouse and taking lots of photos! Nice museum. Staff is very kind and informative.This is a beautiful spot in person.

You can get some great pictures to take home to show family. Lady in gift shop was great at telling history of light. Lots of displays in house to tell history You are able to walk all around it , took lots of pictures from different angles. Found out that Park Super. and his family lived on second floor.

Since we were passing through LuBec Maine again, we revisited the lighthouse. All the repair work was completed, and the place looks outstanding. The museum is well kept and informative. When you leave, more adventurous drivers may want to set their GPS to Cutler, Maine via Boot Cove Road and Route 191 for a nice scenic coastal ride if they are returning south via Machias Maine.

Being there just as the sun comes up gives you a view you only see in paintings. We visited after the season so didn't tour the interior but we did tour the grounds and walked some of the paths along the water. Very cool place to visit.

We were on a trip to see and photograph as many lighthouses as we could in a nine day trip through MA, NH, ME, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We saw and took pictures of 15!! This was # 3 on the list. It was my favorite. It is one of the most beautiful lighthouses. We got there too late to tour it, as it was after 5, but spent about an hour taking pictures. The light at that time shone on the tower of the lighthouse and made for some amazing photos. When you are at this lighthouse, there is a rock sign that states that you are at the eastern-most point in the U.S. It even gives the longitude and latitude degrees. Sounds like the tour is amazing as well. Sorry to have missed it.

This the farthest point east in the US. We got up early to see the sunrise. Perfect day for it. Very nice grounds and popular in the early morn. A cute porcupine didn't seem bothered by our presence. Very nice visit. Even though hours state that the park doesn't open until later, you can park in the lot outside the gate and take the short walk down to the lighthouse.

Tide was out; view was great. Only restroom in the area was filthy outhouse, which would have been great if you could have stood the odor.

We visited on a perfectly clear and sunny fall day. The lighthouse was open so we were able to climb up and get a view from the walkway around the light. We also saw the original Fresnel lens that amplifies the light. The park employee who gave the tour was friendly and knowledgeable. He said the lighthouse itself is open most Sunday afternoons during the tourist season - nearly over now.

Beautiful grounds. Loved the lighthouse and the ocean as a backdrop. There's a short walk from the parking area to the lighthouse. Portable toilets are available in the parking area only.

Outstanding and super maintained park and museum. Breath-taking beauty. Peaceful. Great hiking trails. Informative. Good picnic area. A must visit.

What a scenic ride into the lighthouse. It has grand sitting on top of the cliffs. You can't climb to the top, but the trails nearby are also beautiful. If you are a lighthouse bluff cross this one off as the one furthest east in the United States.
