We adore Audubon. My family has been going there since I was a child. The museum has a small fee, which is well worth the cost if you're even remotely interested in: birds, nature, history, or science. They have several well marked hiking trails, and in the summer they have manual paddle and row boats guests can rent extremely cheap to putter around the small lake. There used to be many geese and ducks but we haven't seen them for several years. Audubon is preserved as a natural habitat so you will see a variety of wild life, birds, flowers, and plant/tree species. In the winter you can see a whike different side to the forest, and if properly clothed you can have an envigorating experience still.

My family and I (two small kids) went for a hike in Audubon State Park this past summer. The lady in the visitor center was very helpful when we were deciding which hike to take-we used a stroller for part of it. It was not at all crowded (just saw a couple other people), and the trails were well-maintained. We will be back!

This is a great location for a picnic. The trees and lake are beautiful no matter what the season is. It's hilly and scenic. Even if you don't have good hiking gear, you get a great sense of the great outdoors by walking on the paved roadways. Great place to take pictures as well!

I knew this was a CCC park and the campground was consistent with that. We camp in a 26 foot class C so we rarely use the showers, etc. As state parks go there was less than normal space per site. Also there was a lot of road noise. Tight turns, some sites were almost impossible to back in to. But the pluses were an affordable price and a reliable reservation available through ReserveAmerica.

This is a great place to hike a few trails, hang out in nature, or fish. You can even rent a paddle boat if you manage to catch someone out there... I don't know if there is a schedule or not, but it seems you can never catch these. It's still a great park either way though. The pet trail is excellent for a nice walk for exercise. It is a little strenuous for a casual stroll though, just be warned. I wished they allowed pets on the other trails...

This is a nice little park ,it has several small cabins as well as camping, the John James Audubon museum is worth your time. There is a small lake on site for fishing also a golf coarse and plenty of hiking trails.

This place has awesome trails for running under huge trees which makes it cooler even in the dead of summer. Relatively unused almost like a private park which adds to how nice or really is. Hidden secret that is well worth a visit even if you aren't a runner.

Audubon is great for the hiker who enjoys the challenge of traversing roots and hills and might be planning for a challenge in the Smokies. Audubon is great for the walker who likes to stay on the blacktop and be close to nature. Or the mom with a stroller and kids getting exercise as a family. Audubon museum is great for those who appreciate art and learning about Audubon. And without paying a museum entrance fee, check out the current show in the art gallery. Sounds like a fun date complete with picnic by the lake! Audubon is great for the one searching for that perfect gift for the nature-lover. Check out the museum store for kids gifts, local souvenirs, crafts, nature books, and Audubon prints! Audubon is great for the family reunion held a shelter with playground, tennis courts, paddle boats, and fishing available. Audubon is great for the golfer who wants to try one of most challenging park courses in Ky. And don't forget, Audubon is great for the camper! Don't have a tent or RV? Rent a cottage! No I don't work for Audubon, I just appreciate all it has to offer!!

This park is very tranquil with several trails where you can view the wildlife. There is a camp ground on the site with primitive and RV camping. Water and electricity are available at some plots with laundry and bathroom facilities. The museum is great and they offer week long children's camps for a modest fee. The scenic lake offers paddle boats and canoeing and is stocked with a variety of panfish and bass.

We found this place by accident several years ago and came back this time on purpose. It is apparently the world’s only museum devoted to this famous American artist and it traces his artistic development as well as the many ups and downs of his career. The museum is located in a french provincial style building originally built in the 1930’s as a Civilian Cinservation Corps project to honor Audubon, who once lived in the Henderson area. This place is located on the north side of Henderson’s commerical strip, but once you enter the park, it feels like you’re well off the beaten path realy quickly. If you are a nature enthusiast, this place is really worth visiting and also includes a small nature center, bird viewing room, a film about Audobon, local arts exhibits downstairs, and a nice gift shop. The grounds are well kept and verdant, with flower gardens and nature trails. The park also includes a campground near the entrance.

We went to this park for the first time on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. This is a beautiful, well-maintained park. There is a lot to do, from hiking, tennis, golf, fishing, boating, and camping. The museum is also nice. We were allowed to use the fishing poles for free, just had to buy the bait. The paddle boat and canoe rentals were very reasonably priced. Also, cabin rentals are available. The kids had a great time, we will definitely be returning.

What a beautiful museum and park. From a beautifully architected museum to a magical walk on the miles of trails, this park has become one of my favorite places to visit. We were there Memorial Day Weekend and the park was still perfect even though there were many families there enjoying the trails, museum, fishing, or golf. How lucky we are that people 75 years ago had the vision to preserve John Audubon's art and legacy.

Audubon Park has a little bit of everything for most outdoorist. From camping, fishing, bird watching, walking trails, to golf. The camping has rv hook ups and primitive camp sites. Also located on the campgrounds is a facility with his & her restrooms & multiple showers.
