We stopped here for a hike and a geocache while visiting the Big South a Fork Area.... The hike was worth it and the photo ops were great! We also collected a geocache while in the area. Glad we came and would recommend!

We were blessed to have this beautiful day in February, so hiking just seemed to be the thing to do. After a beautiful drive through the mountains we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the falls. Ice and snow had formed around the base and glorious blues and whites filled the basin area. Long icicles hung from every ledge, with green Rhododendron and bounding Hemlocks above. This was a spectacular day. We continued on to Yahoo Arch which was non the less breath taking. This area is truly a hidden gem. Great trails that are well kept and clean and the best part...no crowds!

This was worth the hike. It was beautiful and awesome to see how people lived there. It reminded me of a mini Mesa Verde. I would love to go back.

We went Cumberland Falls and to Yahoo Falls for part of my 30th birthday celebration. We went with a 20 month old (carried in a child carrier backpack) and a 3 year old. This is a short trail but there were a couple of slippery areas on the trail so be careful and wear appropriate shoes! No flip flops. My husband wore flip flops and he injured his foot. Part of the trail includes a stair case. The falls were very pretty and you can go behind the falls to rest and just watch the falls and enjoy the nature around you. We were the only people at the falls when we arrived! Even on the way back, we only saw 1 other person on the trail. I climbed down to the bottom of the falls and it was just so beautiful! (i wouldn't take young children to the bottom of the falls)

This place is one of the most beautiful spots I've ever been!!! Not commercialized or overcrowded! Definitely a hidden treasure!!! Hiking was great and views were amazing! Loved it and can't wait to go back!

To be fair we visited this fall right after being at Cumberland Falls very tough act to follow. Park was easy to find was down a 1.5 mile dirt road that was in good shape plenty of parking. Just not alot of water coming over the falls this would be a amazing falls after a big rain. Was nice how you could go behind it. Just that there are alot better falls for alot less effort.

Easily hiked. Pretty surroundings. Not as large as Cumberland Falls but the experience is 100 times better.

Yahoo falls is a must see if you're in the area . It's about 1.5 mile hike . It is one of the highest falls of the area. It was so pretty and not a really rugged hike. It did have a lot of steps to climb at the end but it was worth it.

I am a huge waterfall fan ~ huge. I find waterfalls and drag my friends, family and man into the woods, off the beaten path and into canyons we surely have no business being in without a rope. Yahoo Falls I could visit again and again. What a surprising beauty! 113 feet tall and starts out as just this little creek but Oh! does it make up for it on the way down. Two trails loop around the Falls ~ one to the top that you can double back and then go to the bottom. Visit the top first ~ although in full summer you might not be able to see much. Then go back and take the very very steep metal stairs to the bottom trail. This is not for the elderly although I am an out of shape 40 something woman and I did it. Holy Cow! The sheer cliffs to your right ~ then stream to your left. Stunning! About a half mile in you come to the base of the waterfall and find an enormous cave hiding behind the falls. Took my breath away. I could have spent hours here just exploring the cave, the stream, the bridges, the trails. If you go in warmer weather bring a picnic in your backpack and soak it in.

Such an easy short hike into the falls. Take the time to climb down underneath, you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I went to the falls on a side trip. The road coming in was a bit rough. The park needed a lot of work. The trail did as well. It was an enjoyable hike but the trail would go off in several directions and we had to double back because we lost the trail. The falls are the tallest in Kentucky. It is a beautiful cavernous area and the falls coming down off the top of the caverns. Worth seeing. The overlooks are worthless. The park needs attention.

At the north end of the park, the first big site is Yahoo Falls. To get there, you have to leave the comforts of Route 27 onto a smaller road, then suffer the final mile or two on a gravel road to a fairly sizable parking lot (and actual bathrooms!) Avoid the temptation to leave your car quickly and stumble around the picnic area - after a few bends, you will hit the trailhead. The trail itself is not too bad - it's pretty wide, there are a few modest elevation changes. The toughest part of the trail is a fairly large metal staircase (going down to get to the falls, up to get back to your car.) I recall it was just short of 100 steps. The final reward after about a half mile out is the falls. We were there in June, so the falls were fairly light, but they are quite tall. The trail loops behind the falls through a giant cavern. A very neat place! Enjoy your time before the 1/2 mile back (including going UP the stairs.)

Beautiful waterfall, largest in Kentucky. Its about a quarter mile from the parking area and about 160 steps down to the lower part of the falls. Best after it has rained.

Nice easy hiking area to a wonderful waterfalls, good picnic area and close to Somerset, KY. Popular local spot for a short hike.

A beautiful hike to a beautiful waterfall (113 ft., tallest in KY.) Force of waterfall is dependent on season and recent rainfall. We hiked the mostly flat trail to the top of the falls. There is another trail to the base of the falls. I have also viewed the base of the falls while on another trail. Beautiful scenery, not to be missed. One of Kentucky's best kept secrets.....this whole area is pristine, not crowded, and I hope it stays that way!I have also been there in the winter on a mild day. Very beautiful with ice forming at the bottom of the falls. I actually prefer the winter scenes to the summer scenes.
