A great experience that will be remembered for a lifetime! Everyone (and I mean everyone) should go to Churchill Downs as many times as they can, but at least once in a lifetime! It is Exciting, Beautiful, Memorable and could be profitable! I loved it and I am sure you will to!
If at all possible go see the OAKS or the DERBY. It doesn't matter if you don't care about horseracing, the atmosphere is amazing. If you're in Louisville and he horses aren't running, go anyway. The museum is excellent and you can take a guided tour of the facilities.
Churchill Downs is THE betting man's PARADISE!!! I've been there quite a few times myself and I was just so, well, SO much more than satisfied! It's just, I can't even describe in words how AWESOME that place is!!! It's a place were you can relax, bet, win some money, lose some money, but most of all, have the most AMAZING time you've EVER had in your ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!! And WONDERFUL for people of all ages!!! So if your looking for a place to just relax and have and just have an AMAZING time, look NO further and come to Churchill Downs in Louisville Kentucky, and if it's you're first time, let me tell you, I bet ALL the money I've won there, that you'll remember that night for the REST of your life. So, if you think this is AWESOME, why not make it AMAZING and experience it for YOURSELF? Come and down to Churchill Downs and maybe even book yourself a SUITE!!!
Is attending the Kentucky Oaks, Derby, or both race days on your bucket list of must-do's? If not, it should be. Like excitement, new things at every turn? Loads and loads of people, even a few celebrities sprinkled around the track. If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then look no further and head to Louisville, Ky the first Friday and Saturdays in May. How do I get tickets you might ask. Well, for most first timers I suggest buying general admission tickets before the race days to save a bit of cash. This ticket each day purchased will give you unlimited use of the grounds and infield which is an attraction in itself. No seat, but who stays in a seat those days anyway. Coming from out of towners are encouraged to shop around for hotels as they increase tremendously for these days and most hotels will require a Thursday through Sunday reservation. I love the entire week and there are so many places and things to do, many costing little. So, if this sounds like a possibility for the first weekend in May come on to Kentucky. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
We took our girl scout troop here and had a blast in seeing the trainers and horses up close and personal! This place is amazing, I can only imagine what it's like during the Derby!
Beautiful, historic race track. Very crowded & expensive during Derby week. Best to visit during before or after Derby if you just want to see the place and bet a few races. But Derby and Oaks days are awesome but very expensive.
If you like horses or horse racing this is a must see the tour was reasonably priced, informative and fun the facility is unbelievably beautiful
It's hard to find something even teenagers will enjoy, but on a trip through Kentucky, we stopped here and had a great time. We all enjoyed seeing something we've only seen on TV, from seeing the horses close up, to the grounds, to how shirt the jockeys were and how small their saddles, it was a fun time. Very unique and interesting, filled with a lot of tradition. I would say, if you're in the area, stop here.
My family and I love going to the races. We have tried different seating and no complaints on any. Great value, especially with general seating and being able to sit right at the finish line. They offer great things for the family, like trick or treating parade or getting to see Santa and the mascot race horse "Charlie." We always enjoy watching the horses lining up prior to entering the track. The kids are always thrilled to pick their favorite color on the jockeys jersey and see if it wins. The food is good and reseaonably priced. We look forward to going each year.
What a great place for gathering with your friends! Millionaires Row during Derby week! Great buffet luncheon, program and sights you will not see anywhere else!
Bet your best horse, dine in 5-star luxury or visit the museum. All can be had at CD, home of the Kentucky Derby. Springtime brings surprises every year for the big race, from sunburns to freezing temperatures, so plan ahead. Free parking plus free valet. They're at the post........
Entertaining, delicious food, fun atmosphere, learn about horse racing, and Kentucky's rich history.
We went to the races in October and were able to get a Millionaire's Row ticket for around $30 which included lunch. Having only been to Churchill Down's for the Derby, it was fairly eerie to see the track so empty. It was however quite enjoyable and frankly a lot of fun. The Derby is special but it is also quite a treat to go another time.
Amazing! Cant wait to go again.I really enjoyed the track.you got to see these horses.they're beautiful. the atmosphere was spectacular. everyone we went with had a great time.this is a place I will never miss again .can't wait for Derby week.
Churchill Downs just keeps on getting better! There is something for everyone, regardless of age. While you are there have a meal at the Derby Museum and try the fried green tomatoes! This is an experience you should have once in your lifetime!
