This is a quiet off the beaten path place to kayak and fish. It's a good stopping point on your way from Montana to Salmon, Idaho. BTW, this is a beautiful drive. I wasn't fishing, but saw some monster fish from my kayak. Free camping. Be sure to bring what you need if you are camping because there is no shopping close by. Do your shopping in Dillon if coming from that direction.

This is one of those things you’ve heard about, but never believed existed: free and beautiful. It’s slightly South of Dillon, right off I-15, Ex.44, left on MT 324, takes you right to the board of the water, gorgeous views, big birds and few neighbors. It’s all free, only limitation being that you can only stay14 days. I am told there is great fishing. It’s primitive at its best.
