This is s great walking/jogging/biking trail running for miles on both sides of the Missouri River. The trail takes you past small islands, dams, Gibson Park, nesting waterfowl, the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, Giant Springs State Park, and is enjoyed by young and old alike. This is a top attraction for locals.

Wonderful trail for walkers, bikers, runners, and strollers. The mighty Missouri River is right at your side as you travel the trail around the community of Great Falls. Visit the World's shortest river, a fish hatchery, view cliff swallow, picnic, fish a pond/rive, view dams, geese and other water fowl as your progress the trail. Fun place for romance, family outing and a solo run.

Running, walking, biking - don't miss it! Well maintained and always improving. What a wonderful addition to this city!

The trial is a wonderful asset to Great Falls. You can run, bike,,walk, roller blade etc. on this trail. It is wheelchair assessable too. It is a beautiful area and can be enjoyed by all.

If you just traveled into Great Falls and you need to stretch your legs, you can do part of this trail along the river. The bird viewing was great - but I'm told you need to travel further out of town to get to the best parts of this walk.... Do so, because sticking to the Great Falls area made this "just ok."

Walked the trail a couple of times during a recent business trip. It runs behind a number of motel so it's literally right there. It's an easy walk and it was nice to see folks out with their dogs - helped with my "missing-my-dogs-at-home syndrome." It runs along the Missouri and right into town. The weather was beautiful so it was far better than hitting a treadmill.

We are walkers and observers/birders. We would have done more if we had the time. Maybe bicycle out to then end. There are bicycle rentals nearby. It's just well done. The people are friendly. There are directional signs and maps at most/all intersections. There are some dog parks too.

This is a nice place to hike if the weather is nice. Having read a book like undaunted courage makes the location interesting.

Traveling from Yellowstone to Glacier, we stopped in GF for lunch and then drove to the dam area for a after lunch walk. The falls and dam are beautiful, very quiet and lots of diverse plants to observe. Refreshed and ready to tackle the last portion of our drive

Okay, to be fair, G. Falls is centrally located and most outdoor activities require a bit of a drive. That said, River's Edge Trail is an excellent place for running, biking, rollerblading, etc. Some areas are a little on the rough side for blading. Recently discovered the trail area near Rainbow dam/good for trail running and mountain biking. River's Edge Trail isn't exactly a "destination" but worth your while to take advantage of if you live or are staying in G. Falls for an extended period of time.

Easy walk but pretty boring. You see pretty much the same view if you were to follow the road alongside on your car. Do it for exercise but don't schedule your vacation around it.

My wife and I and our son walked part of this trail. We started at Rainbow Falls and walked as far as the Lewis & Clark Museum before turning back. Great views of the river and some of the falls. This part of the trail is out in the country so it quiet and relaxing. While walking this trail we came across Great Springs Park and that is well worth a visit.

A lovely walk with lots to see and has many information post along the way, which I found helpful since I am not from the area. We walked from the Lewis and Clark interpretive centre to the Giant Springs/fish hatchery. It was a very nice way to spend the morning.

This trail offers a nice shady walk but unfortunately the opposite side of the river offers some vistas that are less than appealing. Enjoyed the exercise, not the view.

We have visited different sections of this trail on different visits to Great Falls and loved it every time. It's a beautiful, paved, right-on-the-Missouri-River path that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy, and connects many of Great Falls' best landmarks. This trail is truly one of the best features of GF!
