Beautiful church in the Jesuit tradition. We were staying in hotel about 1/2 block away. Sorry we didn't have the chance to attend mass there.
All the old Churches are stunning but this has always been personally significant for me. I love the arches and statues. I do wish tourists would show a bit more respect and leave no "footprints" when visiting. The staff does a good job keeping the Church clean and dusted.
Beautiful church, excellent priest, clear sermon, and the vocalist has the voice of true angels. Go early as the features of this gem will take you a while to take in, it's beautiful.
We love to visit the church when our family comes to see The Roosesvelt hotel Christmas decorations. The church is one of the most beautiful churches in the city.
The tour guide was knowledgeable of the history of the Church, was able to go into and marvel at the architecture.. very nice
This is a beautiful church with lovely paintings and amazing stained glass windows was a joy to visit. A place for quiet meditation in the midst of toouring such a vibrant city.
My husband and I walked over just in time for noon Mass. It is so nice to visit an older church with beautiful stained glass and statues when you have a Vatican II styled church you go to every week back at home!
Go see it for yourself. It's beautiful especially at night. What's there to dislike? It's a gorgeous piece of architecture. If you're lucky you'll see some religious zealots protesting our depraved world too. Ha!
It's a nice church but not in the eoropean mode. Interesting stained glass windows and paintings on ceiling
What a beautiful church. The church was located right behind our hotel and we decided to got to Sunday night Mass. The service was excellent.
Take the time to walk in this lovely church. It's gorgeous with all the windows and stations of the cross.
We were so fortunate to have such a beautiful church so close to our hotel(JW Marriott). We attended mass twice during our stay and enjoyed the service and particularly the homily both times.Attending Mass when we travel always feels that we become part of the local community and this was no exception.
We attended Saturday evening Mass. A very nice experience. Great location so that after churc you can grab some great grub
Catholic Jesuit church in downtown New Orleans. Renovated after Hurricane Katrina with all the original architecture and art. Stanied glass windows have been cleaned and repaired within the past year and have been brought back to their original beauty.
We were lucky to stubble upon this church. It was locked up when went by at night but during the day the doors were open. It is incredible inside. The ceiling paints and art was just incredible. The iron pews were incredible too. If you have the opportunity to visit it was worth it.
