My son and I were visiting the Mobile area and decided to see whether there were any breweries in the area. The Fairhope Brewery is a terrific craft brewery an easy half-hour drive from downtown Mobile. We opted to do the $15 beer flight, choosing 5 brews from the 7 on tap. There were two IPAs, including a black IPA, an imperial stout, a coffee stout, an everyday ale and the Fairhope 51. The 7th was called Lil Poisin. The folks here at Fairhope make good beer. At the end of the tasting, my choice was the black IPA. IF you like good beer, do yourself a favor and head out to this craft brewery. A word of caution here is take food if you think you're going to want something to eat because there is no food available.

Specifically went to Fairhope Brewing Co., and since they don't open until 4pm on Thursday, it gave us time to explore the town of Fairhope. Arriving at the brewery shortly after 4, we were greeted by Assistant Brewmaster Tim. My wife opted for the Everyday Blonde Ale, a lighter style beer and tried the Fairhope 51 Pale Ale followed by (take the) Causeway IPA. All three were great. Their taproom, a large area with tables and bar seating, is a BYOF operation. Basically their aim is to make great beer, not good food. Coming from Michigan, where there is a brew pub on every corner, some have one or the other, few have both.If your in the Fairhope Alabama area check it out.

Arrived late on a Sunday evening and got a last call brew. Liked the beer and the folks. Not where you would think it would be in Fairhope...but worth looking for. Enjoyed it.

Second visit while headin thru to the Gulf. This place obviously is a locals hangout but also very welcoming! Live Music and great selection of brews on tap - a little something for everyone. Also had wines available. You owe it to yourself to try this place out, you'll be glad you did.
