As someone who is somewhat of a history buff , I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent learning something that wasn't taught during any of my history classes. People really should take the time to learn what these young gentlemen endured . Simply because of accusations made, by someone more fortunate than these young fellas.

I visited the Scottsboro Boys Museum & Cultural Center en route to exploring the Civil Rights districts of Birmingham and Montgomery. I expected to find a handful of exhibits dusted off and put on display inside an active church. As I discovered, the church used for this Museum is owned by the committee and has a permanent and extensive display of photographs, exhibits and artifacts relating to the Scottsboro case and the history of the Center. The host on the day of my visit (Loretta) mentioned the committee's long-term plans for the grounds (which leads to the railway tracks). There is also a plaque about the case outside City Hall (several blocks down). There are several books available to purchase, and the one I bought (by Dr Dan Carter) is superb.Scottsboro is hardly a hot spot for tourists, and the Museum & Cultural Center is only open two Saturdays a month to the general public, but if you have an interest in this case and American jurisprudence, or in the modern history of the South, make the effort to visit this Center.
