Dodie and crew offer wonderful and delicious insight of Alaskan Salmon and Halibut and her life as a fisher-woman and raising a family in AK. Her recipes which she shares, and you get to taste, made me a salmon enthusiast. A small lecture and wonderful demonstration topped of with us cooking fresh salmon and halibut on the wood fire out back made for a great time.

We had a most enjoyable time watching, listening and learning about salmon, halibut and the history of Icy Strait Point. It was also great to fun to cook and eat halibut and salmon prepared several different ways. Very relaxing and fun experience!

We whole heartedly enjoyed this class on learning how to make Salmon dishes along with learning how to fillet a halibut and cook both of them over a grill. The recipes that were shared with us were so good that we had to buy a case of the wild caught Sock Eye Salmon so we could share with our family and friends when we got home. The teachers and assistants are very knowledgeable which made our time there very fun, interesting and educational. We also learned about the different types of salmon and how to identify them in streams and at your market. This is a very worth while cruise excursion to take or visit if you are not cruising.
