Powisset Farm has a new and innovative program - cooking classes. Walk to the field, pick your ingredients, and bring it all back to a wonderful new kitchen set up in the middle of their classic barn. Last week's class showed how to preserve tomatoes for the winter, lots and lots of tomatoes. You start off in the field and you end the morning with crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, flavored tomato sauce, pealed and sealed tomatoes. All preserved for the long hall. A morning that is fun and informative. You will love working with Rachel and Leah, who were our guides, instructors, and hosts. They are knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly hospitable.

The fields in the front have been transformed into a working farm -- a CSA. Vegetables of every description, enthusiastic volunteers and members/customers.Hidden away in the back are large fields, excellent for riding or walking.Add this farm hike onto your visit to Noanet Farm across the street.
