This cluster of dog shows is held annually in this facility. They are great to work with and the facility is perfect for the dog shows.
Made our first trip here; went to see a Monster Truck show. It was smaller than I thought it would be. But the smaller size makes it easier to navigate with children. The staff was friendly and helpful with questions. And not having to pay for parking and the price of the food and drinks at the consession stands was very good compared to other larger venues I've visited. Will definitely look for more events here!
We went to see the Blue Man Group at the Salisbury Civic Center last evening. First the good - a convenient location, no alcohol served, and free parking adjacent to the center. Now the bad: Doors were supposed to open at 7:00 but were almost an hour late due to some technical problems. The floor seating is atrocious. The seats are uncomfortable and too closely spaced. The view towards the stage is horrible - anything behind the first few rows is blocked by the people in front of you. The show was average. We saw the Blue Man Group four years ago in Vegas at a much better venue. The show hasn't changed much since then and needs some serious updating. The Capt'n Crunch skit is as stale as the cereal in the boxes must be after all these years. That number doesn't work well in an arena size space. NBA rookies have a better free throw average than the Blue Men did catching paint balls in their mouths. They didn't perform there iconic number Baba O'Riley in Vegas or here. Perhaps they broke the piano with the mallet. There were moments of brilliance but they were overshadowed by long stretches of the mundane. Save your money and see the Blue Man Group at a fixed venue or better yet save your money and wait to see if they update their show.
Went to see a show that was set for 7:30 on the ticket. Arrived about 7. The venue doors did not open until well after 8 o'clock. Everyone waiting, probably over 1000 people, was quite annoyed. Then everyone had to be seated.show started about an hour late. An announcement of what the delay was for could have helped. Went to see the Blue Man Group - there were excellent.1 star for venue5 stars for the show
The shows that we go to when we go back home to visit to Salisbury the show that stands out in our minds of so many good ones is The Moscow CircusFor Salisbury having a center like this is so good for families with children and even seniors
Attended a dog show there and the facility is wonderful. Free parking, plenty of restrooms. They have elevators and escalators. The food was a bit pricey though.
Andrew got to go as a Father's day gift from Lisa. Andrew Sr & Jr and Lisa said Bill Cosby still has "it". New material, lots of laughs. Seating is good anywhere in the building.
Went to a wrestling tournament and thought it was one of the best for seatting. Plenty of parking, plenty of comfortable seats and decent food with reasonable prices
We went here for the Toby Mac Hits Deep tour. I thought this was a great place to see a concert. I enjoy smaller venues for concerts. Everything was very accessible. Lines were manageable. Parking was enough and close.
Excellent show. Lots of staff, usually accompanied by bored dudes in bail-bond Tshirts & draggy-a** pants. Clean & sufficient restrooms. Old but padded (so better-than-average) seating. STAY AWAY FROM the alleged cream of crab soup: salty glue, a few bumps of celery & threads of crab, & then they have the nerve to ban outside food. Didn't try any other food after examining others'. Sound system blurry.
The civic center is large enough to have enough arenas for the different obedience trials to run simultaneously. It was clean and there was ample staff to provide assistance when needed. The events planning office was very helpful. Drawback the food was very expensive for what it was, and outside food couldn't be brought inside the facility.
Sat in second tier at Globe Trotter game; sound was awful, could not hear comments by announcers or players on the floor.
We went to see ther Harlem Globetrotters here and paid close to $180.00 for 2 adults and 2 kids to see the show. The visual part of the show was great but the Globetrotters also do a lot of verbal comedy and none of us could understand a word they said. It was really annoying having noise blasting in your ear for 2 hours and not understanding what was going on all for a big hit to the wallet. Food choices were minimal at best and $2.50 for a cookie should give you an idea.
I have been only (2) times to the civic center. However on the television stations located in the DelMarVa area and check out their website you will have the opportunity to take advantage of nationally known plays, sports venue, childrens entertainment, craft/flower shows. bingo expos and such. All of this in a country area without the hassle of the busling city parking and travel expenses.
Thank you so much for your positive review! I'm happy to hear your enjoyed your visit to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center and Salisbury, Maryland. I hope you'll have a reason to come visit us again some day. Sincerely, Kristen
