We were told to visit by a local we met in a shop. There is a nominal entrance fee. However inside is a quiet haven with some lovely gardens and the ruins which are being restored. There are narratives with photos to show the progress. Also good toilets. To visit you come past a green square where the locals go about their business and the Tanque La Union which appears to be the communal laundry washing area. Don't miss.

No labeling or posts anywhere so you are forced to hire a guide. Only at the entrance they have a recreation of how the place was originally but no explanations at all.

It is hard to share how great this place is without experiencing.the ruins on the premises are hreat. The decoration simply beautiful.

This review is late, but as I'm planning a return to the country, this site particularly stands out in memory as one of my favorite places. Largely, it was a favorite because of the area around the fountain, which was very peaceful, and the beautiful flowers growing there. I just liked the symbolism of the new growing out of the ruins of the old.

It is worth visiting for a small fee. My understanding is that is was built in the 17th century and was a place where nuns lived. The view is great from the top floor where the fountain and top of other structures are visible.

We strolled around this ruin and was interesting thoughwe enjoyed others more such as El Convento.Still it was worth the nominal entrance fee and we had a niceafternoon

They're rebuilding part of it now, but the ruins are very interesting from a photographic standpoint. If you're a foreigner, they charge you 40Q to get in versus the 5Q they charge Guatemalans. I think I need to write my congressman about jacking up the rates 8x for foreigners at our national monuments and tourist attractions!

Small quiet ruin, nice courtyard, crypt but not lit so couldn't see what was down there. Not expensive but seemed a little pricy for the time spent there.

This site is the more comprehensive of all of the ruins in Guatemala! This will take over an hour to do and I highly recommend taking the tour because there are not signs and no information about the place other than following a guide. The tour guide is well worth the time; it is the only way to find out about the place. You will end up taking a lot of pictures. This place is beautiful. This is a great place for families as well; there were a few families lounging in the gardens, a couple on a date.

There is no shortage of church ruins in Antigua, but this one is worth a visit. The preserved facade of the church is spectacular and the ruin-surrounded courtyard with fountain is deeply peaceful. The gardens are also very pleasant and well maintained. The ongoing construction to repair/shore up the church was a bit distracting, but welcome. There isn't a lot of explanatory material other than a large board in the entrance that gives the story of the convent (and Antigua) in English and Spanish. There are several very beautiful passages and views over the nearby volcano and mountains. Once construction is over, I can imagine that this would be a very quiet place. Q40 for foreign entrance (Q20 for children) is worth it. Next to a lovely square as well.

This ruin is definitely worth the visit while you are in Antigua. I found it interesting and it has some interesting information to enhance your knowledge of colonial Spanish life in Guatemala. There is a charge to get in which is very straight forward. However, beware of the men who are in uniform and offer you a guided tour. Yes, they are informative but be VERY sure to negotiate the price before accepting the tour. They give you the impression (they do not come out and say it) that their services are part of the admission price, but that is not the case. Leaving the Convent gives you a great view of the Pilas and a small park near Hermano Pedro, please do not miss those as well. They are just to the right of the exit as you leave.

Spent ages here wandering around, loved it so peaceful. We signed the visitors book but could not find another British entry.

These ruins are very well conserved, and maintain the feeling they are suppose to. The church is actually very cool, even for kinds I dear say, that might not be always into site seeing.

Walking around the ruins was a great 40 minutes well spent. There were hardly any visitors on Monday lunchtime when we went, and it was very peaceful. The ruins are fantastic but the gardens also really make this a worthwhile visit. There is an information board as you enter, detailing the history of the convent. There were a couple of areas with scaffolding and workmen as they work to restore the buildings, but it didn't affect our visit at all. 40Q each was money well spent.
