广场（中央公园）

如果你去安提瓜岛,最好的时间就是当地的复活节(圣周或者西方的复活节)。你会见到世界上最漂亮的地毯!整个过程和氛围都很棒,非常值得来这里参观!

公园就在中央。这里是休闲的好地方,好好欣赏美丽的树木和有趣的中央喷泉吧,还有不同的人的生活——年轻人,老人,外国人,当地人,亲吻的情侣,玩耍的儿童,把鞋脱了晒的,拍照的,读报纸的,睡觉的,四处跑的孩子们。我不禁想起了卡洛斯的《博学家》中的胡安马特斯坐在小镇广场的长椅上的情景;我看看我傍边的人,心想“这会是我的那位博学家吗”?所以对我来说这个公园是一个灵感,也是一个可以坐在那里听人讲西班牙语的好地方。这个小镇的生活非常的悠闲,我走了很多的路,所以这个公园简直是上天赐的礼物,它提醒我要坐下来,歇歇脚,喝些冷饮,欣赏一下周围的生活。

看到穿着漂亮的民族服装的玛雅人以及在1700年的大地震中夷为平地(和其他所有在安提瓜的教堂)的大教堂让人感到无比欣喜。

被殖民时期的建筑环绕着的漂亮的中央广场。周围绿树葱葱,为公园长椅遮去了阳光,让你享受树下的美好时光。广场上的旅游信息亭里发布很多很好的旅游信息。傍晚的时候,我们就看着月亮爬升到教堂的顶端。

非常可爱的小广场。但是,我还是要坚决的说不。来到这里只能看到一些景象,然后就是卖当地产品的小商小贩。这些人很过分,他们会一直跟着你。

The Plaza in Antigua is where EVERYONE goes. Kids come here to play and have fun, tourists are here because it's the easiest spot from which to determine how to get everywhere else (because let's face it, all of Antigua looks the same), native women are here selling their textiles and other locals just come to sit, read, enjoy visiting with friends, or snack on the ice cream they just bought.

This is where you'll want to meet up with friends, start walking tours, catch a taxi or start your Antigua exploring. Everything is near by: markets, churches, museums, restaurants and shops.

Very relaxing area with several restaurants and shopping. Be prepared too be bombarded with people trying to sell you necklaces and hand made flutes and other arts.

This plaza never goes out of fashion, it is always the place where people meets, you can feel the synergy around it, people walking in and out, great place. You can sit down, read a book, buy Ice Cream from the mobile vendors and enjoy!! Beautiful at sunset when the nights shows up and everything lights up around the plaza. It can also be a romantic spot if that is what you feel like. In summer time people take off their shirts and relax, I have even seen people jump into the fountain and get a refreshment from the heat. Perfect plaza to go by yourself and watch all kinds of people in it.

Sit on a bench and take it all in! The energy in the park is incredible and very befitting of the Antigua atmosphere. Enjoy.

Like all main squares it is a great place to sit and watch the locals and tourists go about their business. There are the usual street vendors who are not an issue if you are pleasant in declining their wares. Obviously the heart of this lovely Colonial City and a good starting point to explore the rest. Don't miss the markets next to the bus station.

I would enjoy my morning coffee here and observe the atmosphere. On a couple of occasions, a local would sit next to me and chat. I was open to this, so it was a pleasurable experience. I found it relaxing and peaceful, pretty and clean. It's right in the heart of Antigua, so there are always numerous tourists here.

On my most recent visit to Antigua I made it a point to go by Parquet Central to just sit and relax and enjoy the scene. I like to be there the hour before sunset and just take in the activity in the square. You have the women trying to sell their souvenirs and the men doing their shoeshines. You have the late afternoon sun filtering through the trees. You have the historic colonial buildings around the square. You have the volcanoes to the south and west. I find it relaxing to just sit back and take it all in until the sun sets.

I was there on Sunday and there were a lot of events going on. There was a small band playing typical music, a fair selling crafts, wine and chocolate and in the evening a marimba band and dancing. A great time.
