I had read all the reviews about how great this place was for getting a real Cuban cigar and they were accurate. Rick was very helpful in finding the right cigars for my fiancee and I to enjoy. Not only were the Cubans great, but Rick also has some excellent cigars rolled in Costa Rica with Nicaraguan tobacco.

This place is just awesome. The owner Bruce is an amazing man to just sit down and have a conversation with and on top of that he really knows his cigars. If you're in San Jose and craving a good cigar check out this gem of a spot.

The Havana Humidor Room is a great place in downtown San Jose to get gigh quality cigars (even Cubans). They have a nice walk-in humidor and you try and cigars in the place before you purchase. You can even bring in drinks from the bar next dooe (and many times Rick who works there will offer to run for you). Bruce (the owner) is extremely knowledgeable. Once you tell him what you like he can make alternate suggestions if you like. While I was down there for the Labor Day weekend, Bruce recommended a number of limited edition cigars that I would not have considered, but thoroughly enjoyed! Quality merchandise. A must see for a cigar afficianado if you are passing through San jose. Convenienty located near the Del Rey and Holiday Inn.

...but thank you, tripadvisor! a group of 5 of us wanted to check this place out after i read the reviews on this site; i'm no cigar person at all, but i figured maybe my husband might get a kick out of this place. when we walked in, i had no idea how small the place would be. it was perfect for the 5 of us and the owner Bruce. the place is attached to a "pay-by-the-hour" ladies' club, so parents beware - this is not the place to bring any youngins. we hung out w/ some great conversation for about 2 hours. after that, bruce had given us some suggestions on nearby bars/clubs, so definitely made our last night in CR memorable.

Stopping by Havana Humidor Room was the highlight of my recent and first visit to Costa Rica. This is a place for people who know and appreciate the difference between average cigars and great cigars. The selection here is world class! It's a cool place to go have a nice smoke and conversation with the owner (who really knows his stuff), but don't go expecting a cushy tourist-like feel; the location is a little seedy and quite small. Be sure to bring enough cash to cover your purchases or be willing to take a 5 minute walk to the closest atm. I will definitely go back everytime I find myself in San Jose.

I have always wanted to try an authentic Cuban cigar. Today, I found The Havana Room and was not disappointed. I enjoyed a Partagas-Habana D-4 in a wonderfully comfortable smoking room and good conversation with Bruce, the owner. I recommend this store to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy a good Cuban cigar.

Bruce is awesome. This is the best cigar spot ever. If closed, call Bruce and he will open it up for you and let you smoke with good conversation. A must see. Awesome experience. It's in Zone II. The whole experience is great.

Walked In to have a drink and a good smoke I found the owner Bruce very welcoming. Great variety of cigars and rum Bruce knows his trade. Above all a great chat with a cigar aficionado! Fully recommend it.

I would say Havana Humidor Room is the finest Smoking room I have ever visited - Bruce was a great host and along with a steady flow of customers I found it to be a very relaxing and entertaining place to just hang out and enjoy the conversation - the selection of cigars was by far the best in Costa Rica .

Perhaps we were lucky, but we visited when the owner, Bruce, did not have any other customers. Which meant we had a nice, relaxing conversation, as we both sipped our coffees and smoke wonderful Cuban cigars. A great way to take a break after a long walk around San Jose in the tropical heat.

Great discovery on this rainy afternoon found me standing nose to nose with a large selection of Cuban cigars. Quickly Bruce and I jumped into conversation about flavors, imitations, and pricing. Box prices are where they should be. I even watched a football game while smoking my Cohiba Esplendido. I will come here every trip.

if you're into cigars, you have to visit the Havana Humidor Room when in San Jose. The owner is an expat American who is a cigar aficionado himself, and not only will guide the cigar newbie to the right choice but also treat you to a shot of expresso as you sit and smoke your selections in one of the comfortable armchairs. Huge walk in humidor, all sorts of famous Cuban brands like Cohiba, Romeo y Julieta, etc. etc, etc,
