If you're coming to play on the frisbee golf course you'll be pleasantly surprised by everything else that comes along with it. In terms of the course, it has 12 holes/baskets and each has it's own challenging features. Set on a large property that hugs the forest, which is home to howler monkeys, butterflies, blue jays and much more, the course actually goes through the forest in certain areas. Mostly however, it has long open spaces filled with trees which try to block your shots. The owner, Vince, has hundreds of frisbees to choose from, both drivers and putters, so you can try different variations out. If you're looking to have a BBQ or some drinks while you're at Marsella Valley, Vince can supply you with cold beer and a cooler; he's also got a large outdoor BBQ area with lots of seating and tables. There is also a clean washroom at your disposal. All in all, the more you go, the better you'll become! PS. Vince is a cool cat who's always down to party a little and share his insights. Loved him!
Cold beers, fun challenging frisbee golf course, the bigger the group the more fun!! The owner Vince was super cool and let us choose from about 300 discs available and set us up with mini coolers to keep our "sodas" cold!! Can't wait to go back!!
Marsella has a great frisbee golf course, property, location, etc. but what makes it a truly special is its proprietor, Vince. Our 7-person guys' trip was looking for something special - a finale so to speak - on our last night. I liked what I saw on Trip Advisor, so I reached out to Vince. We decided to go all out and have Vince set-up a BBQ for us with great food, beer, mixed drinks, etc. Plus, we had a couple other special requests. Vince came through and then some! He's just one of those hard-working, eager-to-please guys that likes to exceed expectations purely for the sport of it.That is only half of it. He hung out with us, laughed at our stories, told us some of his (ask about his affinity for scorpions), bummed us smoke, etc. The price was great too. Don't over think this...at the very least you need to stop and play a round but also consider staying in one of his cabins (oops on our part) and partying with him for an evening.
We had a great time playing Vince's disc golf course. It was so nice we went back and played it a second day. It's a twelve hole course that's short enough to go around twice without tiring yourself out and it has lots of shade. Vince has lot's of discs you can borrow and the course is cleared out enough that we weren't even close to losing a disc either day. It was pretty cool to have the howler monkeys jeering at your every toss, even your good ones. We'll definitely go back next time we visit San Juan del Sur. There are also nature trails on the property that are nice.
My wife and I just walked down the road from Mango Rosa to find this hidden gem. Probably the most beautiful setting you will find for disc golf. Great course, well laid out, inexpensive and a gorgeous location. If you are lucky enough to speak with the owner Vince a little then it is icing on the cake. Vincent is a very friendly, helpful and fun person to talk to.Thanks for a great time disc golfing.Michael & JauniceCalifornia
Thank you, Vince, for designing and maintaining this disc course! I loved the shade, the creativity of the disc catchers, the availability of discs to borrow, the howler monkey, as well as the natural challenges of the course.
Thank you, Vince!! We were so happy to discover your course and meet you. We have had such a wonderful time on each visit. The course is well planned and fun to play. Plus, if you are traveling without discs, Vince has dozens of great loaners available. Well worth the visit. We WILL be back.PS: If you, fellow traveler, are going to be in this area on Friday night, get Vince to hook you up with a pizza reservation. Sergio takes orders on Thursday and begins cooking at 6:30 on Friday. Sergio's pizza is absolutely the best I've ever had and the experience is not to be missed.
Cool spot in the jungle. Weird pizza place on property that requires reservations. Great way to get off the beach for awhile and see nature.
Vince has done such a great job with this amazingl property. The nature walk is beautiful with lots of howler monkey to look out for. A round of frisbee golf is the perfect way to spend your afternoon. Grabbing some authentic Italian pizza at Munchie Blues is a must. Run by Sergio, from Rome, it's the best pizza I have had since Italy. What a character!!Vince is truly the best part of the experience! He takes amazing care of his guests and will go the extra mile to make sure a good time is had by all.
I reached out to Vince, the operator, via email a few weeks before a destination wedding in San Juan del Sur. He was helpful and came through beautifully. 14 men dropped a cooler of meat and snacks at this spot, then went surfing at Maderas for a few hours. When we got back to the park, Vince had an awesome BBQ zone all dialed with tunes and a well stocked bar. We played the course and found it challenging and beautiful, he's worked it naturally through his awesome piece of land, just a really nice walk, beer in hand and disks in the other. Vince also nailed it on the BBQ! I highly recommend spending a few hours here, its sweet and fun for everyone.
Vince is quite a guy. He has created a little haven in the Valley of Marsella. His property is beautiful, with a great Nature Walk and the fabulous game of Disk Golf. I must say I loved it. You get to love it even more the more you play. What a great break on your way to the beaches of Maderas and Marsella. He has created a great environment to either spend a day, a week, a month, a year.It truly was lovely to live here for 2 weeks. And I believe I will be back here in the near future.
My girlfriend and I have just spent the morning playing disc golf at Marsella Valley Nature Centre. We had a great time. The course is beautiful and the game itself is a lot of fun. To get there, we rented a motorbike and the journey took around about 20 minutes along a dirt road. Vince (the owner) is a very nice guy. He was very helpful and can tell you everything you need to know about San Juan Del Sur and the surrounding area. All in all I don't think there is a better value for money attraction in all of central america.
Cheers Vince! Your Frisbee Golf Course is only second in SJDS activities to the amazing surf. Totally recommend this for anyone in the area whether you are good at frisbee or not! Cheers
Owner Vince invites you to his great little golf course on the way to the beach. Play a round of golf while being cheered on by the local howler monkeys. Great place.
My man Vince, is not only a great host, a true blue nature enthusiast, but also a helluva disc golfer that will probably put you to shame. Of course, after he puts a whupping to you by more than a few strokes he gladly offers you a nice cold Tona while refusing to gloat or trash talk you. The course is always in immaculate shape whether is wet or dry season, and there is also a great nature walk if you're not into throwing discs and drinking beer. If you're down in the San Juan del Sur/Marsella/Maderas area, I highly recommend that you give Vince a ring and stop by the course.
