This lovely crescent -shaped beach is undergoing a construction boom, and vegetation, shade trees and mangroves essential to the ecosystem have been leveled on substantial parts of the beachfront. The ongoing building , on the side closer to Pedasi, results in wind-blown dust and machinery noise. Too bad! The "Cancunization" of a natural recreation spot is underway there. Tasteful plantings and attention to the natural assets of the area would pay off as a long term investment, but Eco-tourism isn't in the cards for the sections with major construction and sales projects , obviously . The other end, heading toward Cañas, retains its natural charm.
very hot sand but pretty beach views. waves for surfers especially and nature followers. very far way from small towns. climate is very hot.
This location is a surfers paradise! Loved it! We didn't stay at the beach but it was easy to come and hang out here for the day and enjoy the waves. I am not a surfer but really enjoyed watching them and the Ocean during my time there.
A bit rough with children but excellent overall. Restaurant at el sitio was very good and smoothies great
Beautiful beach to spend the afternoon watching the surfers and having lunch! We stayed at Casa Lahjagua in Pedasi, which is about a 1/2hr drive away, a beautiful B&B with a sm pool and incredible hosts April and Craig! Breakfast was delicious and the fresh fruit smoothies divine!
Surfers beach not crowded at all we had lunch at the beach restaurant not impressed service was ok but the food was average we ordered clams and half of them were still closed. The chicken was dry and overcooked as I said beach lovely restaurant not so much.
Great waves, bring board or mask to enjoy the waves. Waves a 3 meters or higher. Long beach, few people, very hot. Great new hotels popping up. El Sitio is great.
Liked the location and the view. A little pricier than anticipated but not too expensive. It was a quaint little beach restaurant/bar with ample seating and a decent choice of food and drinks.
Venao was not at all crowded when we were there. It is popular for surfing as it has probably the best waves in Panama. The day we visited, a film crew was filming a commercial, so that was interesting. Nice beach bar on site. It was a great place to just hang out and relax.
Beautiful beautiful....like no other and we have seen and lived on many beaches around the world.great for surfing also.
Long sand bottom beach with a lot of spots to surf. Bring something to keep the mosquitos away at night or they will eat you alive.
this place makes surfing easy. the three places which are right on the beach are just right. the Blue Venau is super luxxe, the surf school with its rooms of mixed families and hard core surfers is midpriced and the inexpensive hostel with a cool bar and reggae playing had a great mix of cool international tourists too.
Playa Venao is a bit overrated itself, but Eco-Venao is quite good for a cheap meal, excellent service and a cheap meal. I rented a board to surf for a couple of hours at Playa Venao and it was pretty rubbish. There wasn't much swell in, but what was there was essentially a dumpy, close-out beach break. I surfed a peak away from the crowd, or I would have been paddle battling with a dozen or more other surfers for garbage surf.
Un endroit encore sauvage. Dépêchez vous avant que les hotels n'envahissent le bord de mer. La plage est a environ 20 mn en voiture du centre de Pedasi.
Hotell El Sitio kanonläge, bra priser o bra service precis vid stranden. Fräscha rum o underbara bad/vågor. Åker gärna tillbaka.
