stopped by the Sydney Hotel for Dinner last night and went walking through the Plaza. It looks so festive for christmas and there are lots of street vendors if you want to snack around. Jolliebee is right across the street. I did not feel it was dangerous or unsafe especially being a white female with two kids in tow. It was fun.
This is just an ordinary circular park? which is a common spot for all the road networks to and from the city. Restaurants, transportation and other establishments are within reach. At night I tried walking there around and I found it peaceful. Thanks God I did not become a holdup victim. But I think there were none.
I like the place since it is front of the church and various hawkers selling their food and wares at really good price. The grass and trees are maintained, a good place to stroll, jog, sit down, picnic, etc. The place is at the heart of the city.
This old plaza id centrally located and very accessible. Nice for a late afternoon stroll. Good place to watch the folks unwind at the end of the day...
The plaza is clean and tidy , you cannot smoke there , basic but pleasing to the eyes , better at night as in the day there is few shade options due to lack of trees , i would say worth taking a look , oh and there is a statue of the general which should be bigger in my opinion
Lack of trees, design and local ingenuity. Go for another place don't waste your time here. Hard to access prone to accident.
when in GenSan city, need to have photo-op with the park, as this is one of the city landmark. The park was not so clean when we were there.
The park is my type of place during my heyday high school days. At night, there are many people mostly students seating by all over. Chain of restaurants is just around the corner, or there are lots of street foods stall if you are on the budget. The music is like chants of religious songs and I would have imagined what a beautiful place this would be in Yuletide season. If you were native in GenSan, definitely this is the place of your teenager memories.
Its your typical city landmark. Each major city in the Philippines has this what we call " Plaza", the towns main public area or is an open urban public space, such as a city square. Here you can see the monument of General Santos which has given birth to the city's Name General Santos City. If you are planning to see and visit this place, a good 5-10 minute stop is good enough to get a glimpse of Plaza Heneral Santos.
We went here during daytime we had great pictures but according to locals it is very attractive during nigh time. We failed to go there during night time because it was raining. Hope to visit it next time
Nice place to rest after walking around. There were lots of trees that provided shade. We stayed here to catch our breath after buying souvenirs at the pasalubong shop that was somewhere near DBP.
Went for several walks at night through the park. Never felt in danger, the park was full of lovers and the speaker system played american romantic songs from the 70's and 80's. Plenty of street vendors and only encountered one beggar.
A 5 am walk around the plaza almost every morning was the norm during my visit here .although there were ample litter bins for recyclables compostables and rubbish I was disappointed with the amount of litter just dropped on the ground . A large staff of mostly ladies worked tirelessly and admirably to clean up and keep the place nice They deserve a lot of credit .I visited at several times of the day over a 3 month period and found the littering culprits were mostly students from the various colleges in the area they have no Pride in their city . I was also frequently pestered by several beggars who frequent the area. and found a threat to call the security was the only way to discourage them.
In the middle of the city, but a place to relax and watch the world go by. Very clean nice grass and trees very unlike most park areas in the Philippines
the plaza heneral santos is clean and well maintained. and you feel safe when you visit here because it is well lit.
